Marcus
Marcus has been on my radar for about a week since I dreamt I had two children, Penelope and Marcus. I love it and can't get it off my mind. Before that I had never even considered the name. Dreams are funny like that. What do you think of the name Marcus? What middle name(s) would you suggest?Thanks!http://www.babynames.com/namelist/9852886

I like Marcus okay. It's always had a nerdy vibe to me even though every Marcus I've met was anything but. I almost said Marcus Anthony and then I realized Marcus Antonius/Marc Antony, so that's probably out. That said I think it goes well with a variety of namesMarcus Alexander
Marcus Jefferson
Marcus David
Marcus Zephaniah
Marcus Eli
Marcus Jude
Marcus Constantin
Marcus Avery
Marcus Luke
Marcus Wendell
Marcus Ashley
Marcus Owen
Marcus Nikolai

I get the nerdy vibe as well but I don't mind it. I was having a really hard time comboing the name so I'm glad to see you weren't!Marcus Alexander seems a bit bland but I'm loving Alexander right now so it's not bad. The second middle would have to have a bit more of a punch.Marcus Zephaniah is cool. It really amps up the nerdy vibe.Marcus Eli is great. Marcus Avery is also great. I really like Avery for a boy, but only in the middle.Marcus Ashley is really nice. I love Ashley on a boy so this really appeals to me.Marcus Owen is handsome and a bit more modern.Thank you!

I don't like it myself but I know a little boy named Marcus who really suits his name. I love calling him Markie, that's really cute.

Marcus, nn Markie is really cute. I hadn't really considered that a Marcus could have a nickname. Thanks!

Marcus is a favorite of mine. I'd use it - it's on my list of "would use if husband hated everything else I like more" list. It's so shamelessly pagan and Ancient Rome, but it is also pretty darned conventional (thanks in part I'm sure to the popularity of Mark which is more of a New Testament name). It's one of the few -us names that doesn't seem too Latin for me. I also like the nickname Marc - although I don't care for Mark, which makes no sense. It would be fun to put it with another Roman -us name but, I won't.It's hard to make combos with. It's a very masculine name, but with too pretty a middle name it starts to sound floppy.Marcus Conrad
Marcus Brandon
Marcus Robert

Well, I couldn't resist that and had to suggest Marcus Demetrius. Haha. Your willpower is stronger than mine. :)

Barely! I had typed out that exact combo. =) Demetrius isn't all that Ancient Roman-ish, after all.

If I'm completely honest the first combo that came to mind for me was Marcus Aurelius. I think it's compulsive.Marcus really isn't an easy to make combos with. I've been poking and prodding it and I've gotten pretty much nowhere.I really like Marcus Robert. I'm not a huge fan of Robert but it seems nicer with Marcus.Thank you!

I never liked Marcus and I still do not like it today. I got called Marcus at one time in primary school, yet my name's Maksymilian...and I get called Mark a couple of times in college (Mark & Marcus are related to each other), so...that's probably why I don't like Marcus. My MM suggestions:
Marcus John
Marcus Lyndon
Marcus Parker
Marcus Warren
Marcus Leigh
Marcus Quentin

That's really unfortunate that others had a hard time getting your name right. I can understand the dislike you have for the name.Your suggestions of Marcus John and Marcus Lyndon stand out.
