[Opinions] Linus.
Lately I've begun to love this name. The discovery took me by surprise, since I once used to dislike it, but now my view on Linus is of course changed.Wdyto it?

It's ok but I work in a pharmacy and it reminds me of quite a few 'products' ... is there a famous book / t.v. character with this name? It seems very familiar Oh and I love the names of your exclamation marks btw :)alice x

Ha, I'm just the opposite with it! I used to love it, but now I dislike it. Still think it's a nice name though, has history.___________________________Silversliver! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !- Naomi, Helena, Tanith, Jude, Rowan, Bryony, Lucy, Faye, Sabia, Oliver, Torin, Flynn, Evander and Damien

I don't care for it. I think it's a very weak sounding name, and it rhymes too much with the word sinus.

I just get the Peanuts association.

I actually like this name a lot.. most people associate it with the Peanuts character, but that's just because it isn't very widely used. Linus was a cute character, anyway. Linus, used nowadays, would be a very "cool" name, I think.Shannon

Long time favorite with me. I would use it, but the meaning of names seem to throw me off and not completely set on using them, and therefore, I dont have combos for it as for now. A lot of people will comment that its a character from the Peanuts, which it is. But look at that character! Sure, he carried a blanket at all times but look beyond that! "He is the intellectual of the gang, and flabbergasts his friends with his philosophical revelations and solutions to problems. He is a paradox: despite his age, he can put life into perspective while sucking his thumb. He knows the true meaning of Christmas while continuing to believe in the Great Pumpkin." (from Snoopy.com, the offical Peanuts site, but its true. Linus was a very intelligent and a great characher) (Okay, yes, I am a peanuts freak, and Linus is def. my favorite character, probably why I love the name. When Charles Schulz died, I spent that Sunday in tears. He was retiring and his last comic was only a few hours from being printed and he died...okay I am done...)
Anyway, if you can survive the whole, Linus is a Peanuts character, its a great name. Some combos I used to have include:Linus Christian
Linus Emmanuel
Linus Eugene (Eugene is a family name)
Linus Graham
Linus James
Linus William

I love Linus! It seems like a very strong, versatile name that would work well on a boy or man. The Peanuts association will probably be there for many people, but I don't think it's overwhelming.

I watched a movie with a character or actor in it named Linus (can't even remember now!). I think the guy was British. It changed my view of it. Here in the U.S., it's largely seen as the character from the Peanuts who sucks his thumb and holds a blanket. I personally have always loved that character and think he's adorable, but couldn't really view Linus on a real person until recently. Now I really like the name. :)
