[Opinions] Penelope
I'm loving Penelope at the moment. What are you opinions on Penelope?
Do you prefer the nickname Poppy or Penny? What style of middle name would you give Penelope?Does Penelope fit with a few of my other favourites, Iris, Beatrice and Matilda as a sibset? :)

Penelope is a name I love. I love its mythological background and the way it sounds. Of the nns, I think Penny is kind of more relevant, but I prefer Poppy. I really like Poppy.
It definitely goes with your other faves. I love Matilda as a name! It's a really great name! Also I really like Beatrice, but I prefer the spelling Beatrix. I love Bee for short. Also I like Iris.Good choices!

I love Penelope and it is a name I would consider using. I don't like Poppy at all, but I do like Penny a bit. I would a classic style middle name or something else that comes from Greek. Penelope fits perfectly well with Iris, Beatrice, and Matilda.

I think it's a very fun name. It's bright and happy and orange. I prefer the nickname Penny, although my favorite nickname for it is Nell. My favorite Penelope combos are Penelope Alexandra, Penelope Juliet, and Penelope Violet (I like this one a lot because of the orange and purple together). I think it would fit well with Iris, Beatrice, and Matilda too!

I love Penelope! It's recently moved up into my top 5. I've never really liked the nickname Penny, but Poppy is cute. I also love Nelly, and have been considering Polly as a nickname for Penelope as well. Because Penelope is 4 syllables, I would likely use a shorter MN. As for style, I'd go for something old-fashioned chic. Penelope Jane comes to mind.

I love Penelope! I prefer the nn Nell, but Poppy and Penny are both wonderful. My favorite combos are Penelope Jane, Penelope Claire, Penelope Fiona, and Penelope Pandora.

Penelope, Iris, Beatrice and Matilda are stunning as sisters! I love Penelope. Slightly weird and awkward, but in a charming way. I prefer Penny as a nickname– it's more intuitive, I like the sound of it a bit better, it's totally sweet and simple, and I've been digging Penny since I saw Dr. Horrible. For the middle name, I'd probably opt for something short and clunky, rather than something frilly, because Penelope is quite long and I'd personally want to emphasise its clunkiness. Some ideas:Penelope Maud
Penelope Esther
Penelope Joan
Penelope Agnes
Penelope Wren
Penelope Vera
Penelope Sibyl
Penelope Linnet
Penelope Finch
Penelope Oda
Penelope Olga
Penelope Marni
Penelope Bridget
Penelope Gytha
Penelope Joyce
Penelope Gladys
Penelope Edna
Penelope CoraAny you like?

Penelope was our runner-up girl's name. I couldn't quite get my husband on board, and our oldest son didn't like the "pee" sound in Penelope & thought it had teasing potential. And I'm not crazy about any of the nicknames, except maybe Lola (which is a stretch). I still think it's a fabulous name & I love it with Beatrice (and prefer it to Beatrice). We were thinking about using Penelope Antoinette or Penelope Charlotte.

I don't mind it, I prefer Poppy as a nn (I can't stand Penny). I think it goes well with the other names.

Penelope is one of the most beautiful, elegant girl's names in my opinion. I like both Poppy and Penny, but prefer the latter slightly more. And that sibset is great! I love it.Esme, namingacrossthepond.wordpress.com

I think it's lovely! I actually prefer the nickname Nell, but I'm sure everybody will call her Penny, which is also a very sweet name.I think Penelope and Beatrice or Penelope and Iris go together nicely!

First of all I am not a huge fan of Penelope but I do think it is refreshing among all the Sophias, Emmas and Isabellas. Also I dont like any nicknames for it. I love Penelope just by itself. I like Penny but as a name on its own but if I had to go with a nn for Penelope it would be Penny. Lastly I think Penelope compliments your other 3 favorites very well.
