[Opinions] Thomas
I've been thinking about Thomas lately. It's what my SO has said he'd name a son, being the name of both his grandfather and his brother (who passed away in 2005). WDYT? Do you think it's too common? Too boring? What would you pair with it out of my top names:Hazel
Sylvia
Matilda
Rosemary
Jemima
Magdalene
Henrietta
Ingrid
Cecily
LilyTheodore (way too much Th-, sadly)
August
Leo / Leopold
William
Edwin
George
Laurence
Charlie
Felix
JulianAnd what do you think of honouring combos:
Thomas George
Thomas Louie
Thomas Nicholas
Thomas Geoffrey Laurence
Thomas RobertArgh! I love Thomas. I just feel it's too popular.

It's also a family name for me, so I've always liked it. I would use it but shorten it to Tom.Tom and Cecily! Or Rosemary.I think you could get away with Thomas and Theodore: only the spelling is the same, not the pronunciation. Thomas William is good; also Thomas George and Thomas Edwin. Thomas Charles yes; Thomas Charlie no. Thomas Julian could work.I cannot warm to Louie! Your other boy combos are good, but Nicholas has that -as at the end that eliminates it. Thomas Geoffrey Laurence is amazing.

It's a nice name and while you do hear it sometimes, it doesn't seem over the top popular to me. I like/love:Thomas Louie and Lily Matilda
Thomas Louie and Jemima Hazel
Thomas Louie and Rosemary JemimaThomas Louie and Charlie August
Thomas Louie and Leopold George
Thomas Louie and Julian Felix

Thomas will still sound great 80 years from now, when all the Jaydens and Logans and Jaxons sounds silly. You can never go wrong with a classic like Thomas. If you want it to sound different, you can use a nn like Tip or Tate.Thomas Geoffrey Laurence is too good to pass up. :-) He sounds like an embassador or a great statesman already. His siblings Sylvia Rosemary Matilda and George August Leopold keep him on his toes.

I love Thomas. I don't think its too common, because lately I haven't even been hearing it much on young kids. I like Thomas and Hazel, Thomas and Cecily, and Thomas and Matilda, although I think all of your girl names go nicely with Thomas. For boys, I like Thomas and August, Thomas and Laurence, Thomas and Charlie. My favorite combos of yours are Thomas Robert and Thomas Louie.

I love Thomas, personally. I know it is terribly popular too, though. My brother's name is Thomas Neil, which I think works well as a combo. Of your combos I like Thomas Nicholas and Thomas Robert.
I also love the nickname Tom, but usually spell it as Thom.Other combos from your list:
Thomas August
William Thomas
Thomas Laurence
Thomas Charles (Charlie sounds too nickname-y by itself, IMO)

I really like Thomas. I think it's a great strong, handsome, classic name, and I like that it has a lot of history. I used to be a bit more wary of it because I didn't really like Tom, but ever since seeing a very adorable baby called Tom, I can totally see it on a little boy now.I think a little less plain names would go best as a sibling for Thomas. So my favorites would be:
Thomas and Matilda
Thomas and Lily
Thomas and Felix
I like the two girl's names with it much better than any of the boy's names.Out of those combos, I really like Thomas Nicholas. George and Robert make it a bit too plain, Louie makes it a bit too trendy British, and Geoffrey Laurence is alright (makes it a bit pretentious, I think).
