[Opinions] Elizabelle?
I was reading earlier posts, and there was a poster with this name (forgive me, but I don't know you, Elizabelle! Is this your given name?:-D). Anyway, I thought that the name was quite interesting, and I'm not sure if I like it. Thoughts? Thanks in advance :)
-BroganLilah Elizabelle? Lilah Cecily? Lilah Gabrielle? Lilah Catherine? Lilah Emmeline? Lilah Marguerite? Lilah Mariel? Lilah Claire? Lilah Juliet? I still cannot decide on a middle name to complete my top two/three :)

At first I thought "Hmm" but having read Poppylena's post below, Elisabelle in that spelling is rather sweet. Not something I'd use myself, but very pretty. For some reason the S gives it a more classic feel._____________________________________________________________________Elinor'Why do people with closed minds, always open their mouths?'

I nearly added EliSabelle to my list ages ago. I found it on a French name site and when I looked it up on Google I found a few results for 18th Century French women so it's not that recent a creation. It makes sense as well as Isabel is thought to be a version of Elisabeth eg Elisabeth - Elisabelle - Isabelle.I'm not sure whether I like it, I like the look of it and sometimes the sound but my brain keeps wanting to change it to Isabelle or Elisabeth :)

I've heard it before. I think it's a nice name actually. It might be confused with Isabelle and Elizabeth though.

Elizabella is on my favourites list. I like Elizabelle even more. It's on the "ancient names" list in the Cool Names for Babies book by Pamela Redmond Satran and Linda Rosenkrantz. I've never known them to lie on their stats either. I picked it up there a while ago and have liked it ever since. I think it's a great name.Btw, for the Lilah question, I like Lilah Catherine, Lilah Emmeline, Lilah Marguerite, and Lilah Juliet. A lot of great names there!-Seda*

Hi. ^_^ (m...)I'm Elizabelle. It's my middle name, actually, and I'm rather sad to see that people dislike it. Thanks a lot Siri for your adament "NO NO NO". :( It is a combination of Elizabeth and Isabelle and is pronounced just like Elizabeth but with Belle instead of Beth. My first name is Olive, so I go by Elizabelle on here and on most websites. I want to be a writer one day and plan on using Elizabelle MyLastName as my pen-name.~Elizabelle~

I know how it feels, btw.My first name, Haven, is often derided on the board and referred to as a "stripper" name. Considering that Isabelle and Elizabeth are versions of the same name, I find it weird to combine them. :-) However, it is okay.

I'm also sorry that people don't like it, I think it's a pretty mn.

Hmmm...it's okay. Better than other made up names I've heard. I wonder though, it is E-lie-za belle or E-liz-a-bell. I like Eliza Belle, that would be pretty. BTW, of the names you are considering, I LOVE Lilah Claire. Gorgeous.

It's alright... But I prefer Isabel, Isabelle, Elizabeth, and Elisabeth. My faves for your Lilah...Lilah Cecily
Lilah JulietI love either/both!

Since Isabelle is said to be another form of Elisabeth/Elizabeth, the form Elizabelle is not that far-fetched imo. But I think I like Elsabelle better.Lilibeth is my favorite form of Elisabeth. Lily is sometimes used as a nn for Elizabeth.I don't mind combination names (I find it rigid to hate a name just b/c it is a new combination of name parts), but it has to be done with style. And what is good or bad style is always a question of personal taste."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

It's nms :(. It sounds to made up to me. I prefer the original Isabelle and Elisabeth/Elizabeth, so much prettier imo :)

It does sound made up, but a least it's a rather pretty made up! :)I like Eliza Belle (FN, MN) and I'd only use Elizabelle as a middle name if I wanted to honor some one. Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Elizabelle is nice, I like combination names and this is obviously a combo of Elizabeth and Isabelle. :)

I like it. I've got Elizabella on my list, too. A person on another board I post at first brought Elizabella to my attention, and I think it's pretty. She says she ran across it somewhere and likes it because "it's a combination of two great queens."Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It's pretty enough, but I'd only use it if there was an Elizabeth / Eliza and a Belle / Bella I wanted to honour. And even then I'd be more inclined to use Elizabelle as a mn, or Elizabeth Belle or Eliza Belle as a fn/mn combo. Elizabelle just looks smushed together and... not very good, sorry.I will say that I think Elizabelle sounds a lot classier than, for example, Elizalyn/Elizalynn/Elizalynne or Elizalee/Elizaleigh/Elizaley to me.

Ha, thanks. I'm getting that the general consensus (wow, is that spelled right?) is that it's not very well liked. I had never heard of it, except for the poster's name several (SEVERAL:-P) threads down.

That reminds me of my deceased aunt whose name is Elsabel. They both sound made up, but I don't really mind them - think of how many names have been put together and now are commonplace. I much prefer Elizabeth, though.

No. No. No.I am so tired of people randomly adding lie/ly, lynn, belle, ella to names. It looks really, really stupid!
