I love Bernadette, it's on my PNL. I'd use it.I know I'm forever citing video games (especially this series), but I play mostly RPGs and they're chock full o'names. Anyway, this is Bernadette from Suikoden V: http://gensopedia.duefiumi.com/index.php?title=Bernadette_Egan
I think it's because of her that I grew fond of the name. :)

Well, images..I've only known one Bernadette, I went to school with her. So, small, dark curly hair, freckles, inclined to be sickley and missed a lot of school. Not much help, huh?

I love the name Bernadette. I have a cousin with this name. I know a lot of Bernadettes (I live in an area with a lot of Catholics)-- I don't really get any specific images since I know a bunch, but it's definitely a nice name. My cousin's mn is Pauline after my grandmother, but I think it's a little long-- I'd probably go withBernadette Joy
Bernadette Pearl
Bernadette June

I think of my sister when I see this name. Her name is Bernadette Maureen. Or Benedetta, in Italian.

I love Bernadette! It's on my PNL. I loved it so much I used it for my main character in my novel. She's 17, a senator's daughter, very sophisticated and a great leader. She's petite with green eyes, freckles, and curly hair. Her full name is Bernadette Victoria Davenport (sometimes goes by Brett).

I dislike this name.
It brings to mind, personally, a middle aged lunch lady. For a middle, I would definitely pair
it with something more modern, not trendy, just more modern

I usually think of Saint Bernadette and the miracles attributed to her. I think it's a pretty name with a great namesake.

I really like it, although not quite as much as I used to. To me it's a nice rusty-red color, and very studious and sophisticated but with a domestic side. It has some really cute nn possibilities too.For some reason I've always wanted to stick it with Nora or Nina. I love Nina Bernadette. Or Bernadette Nora, because the other way around the Rs are a bit overpowering. Other combos I have are Bernadette Angela, Bernadette Fiorenza, and Bridget Bernadette.

Bernadette Angela and Bernadette Fiorenza are very nice. I would agree with the rust-red color, probably because of its earthy image.

I don't really like it, sorry.

I love it! But I would never be brave enough to use it. I could see it becoming the next Agnes or Beatrix in 20 years or so. I don't think it's quite ready for a comeback except for the very brave fashion forward baby namer. I would use it as a middle name if I was going to give it to a child. And I would personally stick with a name like Odette, just because I see a lot of teasing potential with the first syllable sounding like 'burn'. Wordsmith gave so many great middle name options!

I don't know though-I'm thinking maybe it could pick up in some places. According to You Can't Call It It (a baby-naming blog), in NYC, where the author lives, Beatrix and Agnes are becoming quite popular among the fashion-forward. I am just unsure if Bernadette, and other names like this, will ever become popular enough to cross the Rockies over to WA state :).

That's one of the hard things about living in the West (I'm not far from you up in Saskatchewan) Nevaeh is in our top 10 I believe.. I feel like Agnes is far far away from being acceptable. In Ontario/Quebec and New England, however, using Agnes would probably be perfectly fine.

I love Bernadette, which I consider brassy but demure. The first image that comes to mind is that of a freckled girl with thick brown braids and chocolate-brown eyes who is not afraid to express her opinions; she'd be a feminist, too, perhaps one who spurns boys for most of her life but ultimately falls in love with a reserved gentleman sensitive to feminist issues and causes.Bernadette Alice

Ooh, I like several of these, especially some of the more unexpected ones, like Bernadette Zillah and Bernadette Verena. :) Bernadette is big and brassy, isn't she?
