Re: which do you prefer?

Ludwig or Gustav? - Gustav seems to work better than Ludwig in English; I wouldn't shorten it to Gus though.
Leonard or Leopold? - Leonard seems tougher than flabby Leopold.
Anne or Ann? - Anne all the way. Ann is OK but looks unfinished.
Isabel or Anabel? - Isabel. Anabel is fine if you're Portuguese or Spanish, but otherwise it just looks anal.
Sara or Zara? - Zara, though I'd choose Sarah over Zara.
Aurora or Dawn? - Ouch! Pretentious or pleb? Neither, frankly.
Christian or Christopher? - Christopher I suppose, though Christiana is a family name. But both of them send out a message that isn't mine.
Eva or Ava? - Eva, hoping it'd shorten quietly to Eve!
Julia or Juliet? - Juliet all the way; much less smug. Only a mn, though - can't stand Julie.
Constantine or Valentine? - Constantine for its history and to avoid February 14.
Natasha or Natalia? - Both seem dated and silly. Neither.
Edward or Edmond? - Edmond seems to need a French pronunciation, so Edward (also a family name for what it's worth).
Wilbur or Wallace? - Wallace. Hoots, mon, the noo. And I don't like burrs.
Marie or Mary? - Mary. Classic, timeless, only one pronunciation (where I live, Marie is invariably MAHree).
Leonard or Leopold? - Leonard seems tougher than flabby Leopold.
