Julia used to be one of my favorite names. I used to vacillate between Julia and Juliet, though nowadays I prefer Juliana to both. In any event, Julia is one of those names that's familiar without seeming overused - in fact, the only time I've ever encountered more than one Julia in an isolated setting was when I was at college. (One of them actually was a Julia Elise, I found out on graduation day.) It seems as though academia is the place to find Julias. Here are the combos I've created in the past:Julia Seraphine
Julia Maris
Julia Delphine
Julia Daphne
Julia Louisa
Julia Blair
Julia Clara
Julia Clarice / Julia Clarisse

Julia Clare (not Claire) is nice. I used to know a Julia Dorothy; Dorothy was her mother's fn. Julia Hadriana is faux-Latin and almost funny.

I think Julia is a beautiful name. It's very elegant. It's consistently in my top 10, but it's never at the very top because it does strike me as a little boring. Still beautiful, though. My youngest sister is Julia Genevieve, which I think is a beautiful combination. (She's always gone by her middle name.)Katherine, Claire, and Elisabeth are nice middle names, but they're very safe, and Julia is already very safe. What about:
Julia Margot
Julia Rosemary
Julia Daphne
Julia Stephanie (I know Stephanie is dated to some, but I still think it's beautiful)
Julia Dagmar

I have been thinking of this name too. I have always liked it. I just worry that it is too common. I would do Julia Dorothea (honoring mn).
