[Opinions] Abby
Do you think Abby/Abbey/Abbie can stand alone as a full name? I love it but am not crazy about Abigail. I usually prefer a formal name if there is one, but I know that I would never, ever use Abigail. So WDYT?And which spelling do you like best? Thanks!

Abby can totally stand alone as a full name. I'm not a big fan of the name Abigail either, so I can understand. My fave spelling of Abby is Abby.

I love the name Abby by itself. I'm not crazy about Abigail either; it's just nms. I have a close friend who named her daughter Abby; she is such a cute little girl! I fell in love with the name after I heard it on her. I think it can stand fine on its own, although most people will say it sounds a little childish; I don't really think so. I love the combos Abby Elisabeth & Abby Christina. As you can probably tell, my preferred spelling is Abby. Abbey isn't too bad but I don't like Abbie.

Abby, I don't like Abigail. I suggest using Abby as the spelling as the others look too creative. Someone suggested Abby Mae, and I like it.. but I'm partial... My grandmother's name is Mae.. :)I also like Abby Gabrielle, Abby Nicole, or Abby Renee, or Abby Elizabeth. Just please don't use the Ally/Abby combo for sisters... It's soooo confusing... believe me.. I work in a preschool with a Ally and Abby sisters...

I prefer it as a nickname but I do believe it's one of those that can stand up on it's own. After all it is used often on it's own now these days. I prefer Abby, and don't mind Abbie. But Abbey just looks off to me, I can't explain it.

I dont like the spelling Abbey, because it reminds me of monks- but I love Abby and Abbie, and I have a friend named Abbi- and it suits her very well. However, if you are just going to name her Abbey/Abby/Abbie, you shouldnt go with Abbi because its a bit out there, but Abby as a plain name is nice.*Brogan
