[Opinions] Rachel.
I have fallen in love with this name. Its so pretty, simple, and not too popular. Plus, it has a great history, and could have been my name. My mother liked the combination Rachel Jerusha, but I'm not wild about Jerusha. I'd like something plainer with Rachel. Rachel Kirstin maybe?Opinions?LIza

Rachel is a nice name, but it would be cool if you spelled it Rachelle. I like that spelling. I like Rachelle Irene. I also like Rachelle Marissa.

I knew a Rachel Racine (as a middle name). It didn't come from any place in particular, just happened to be what her parents liked as a middle name. I liked it; it was simple but unique without being really "out there."

I'm not a big fan of the name Rachel, probably because I know so many of them. However, I like Rachel Amber as a combo.*Brogan

If I recall correctly, you do eventually want to change your name & you are going by your mn now, right? Would you be interesting in using a combo of the other names you'd previously mentioned? Maybe Rachel Kirstin Elizabeth, Elizabeth Rachel, Rachel Elizabeth or Eliza Rachel Christine? I like the last one the best, especially since you are going by Liza & you like the Rachel Christine combo. :-)If a man say, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he that loves not his brother, whom he has seen, how can he love God, whom he has not seen?

Rachel is my sister's name. Her full name is Rachel Margaret after our great-grandmother who passed away 5 years ago. I don't know very many Rachels, but I know that there were a lot of them in her graduating class.
I really like Celeste, though I don't think it's plainer than Rachel. Rachel Celeste is really nice :-)

I love Rachel too. I like Rachel Maria but out of the ones mentioned I like Rachel Katherine.

I don't really like the sound of the name Rachel (or any other Ray/Rae names for girls). I don't think it's popular for babies now, but it has been popular in my mid/late 20's generation so it's not something I'd consider for a child.

At #34 last year, it is indeed too popular for my taste. (It's even worse - #12 - where I live though.) I know far too many Rachel's to see the name's charm anymore.I don't think Rachel needs something plain, which I do see Kirstin as (another very overused name where I am). I do like Rachel despite its popularity, but because of that I think it's best as a mn. (Actually I'd like to use it as a mn myself one day; it's the name of a favourite cousin I love to pieces.)Either way, it needs paired with something more original and probably a bit frillier, than itself.Rachel Catrina / Catrina Rachel
Rachel Emmeline

I know only two Rachels...

I don't know ANY Rachels. I would use it, just because there is seriously NO ONE I know with that name. And that's important to me, I don't want my kid to have a name that four hundred other kids have. lol~Rhianna~

I think of Rachel as a very mid-west name, not sure why.

Well, I live in the Midwest (Missouri) ... and nope, no Rachels here. lol But I can see where that would come from. It seems like a very down-home name. Kind of like Rebecca. If I had two daughters, I think I'd call them Leah and Rachel. It's a Biblical thing. But they go very well together. =D~Rhianna~

Weird. I live in Illinois, and I knew (personally, not thorugh repuation) at least five Rachels (& Rachaels) in high school, and I've met more in college.

Yeah, I've never met an Aidan or a Grace or an Emma, either. I know a few Emilys, but not enough for it to be obnoxious or anything. lol I guess it just depends on where you live.~Rhianna~
