[Opinions] Edgar
WDYT? I think it's really fresh, compared to other names I've liked for quite sometime. I could easily imagine a little boy named Edgar and wearing it well. What do you think of the sibset Edgar, Charlotte and John "Jack"? Do you prefer Edgar or Edmund? Is there anything that you don't like about Edgar? What combos do you have for it?

Oh, yes. I adore it. I adore both Edgar and Edmund equally, though maybe today I am partial to Edgar. It always reminds me of Edgar Degas, whom I admire.Edgar Daniel
Edgar Felix
Edgar Josiah
Edgar Nicholas
Edgar Phineas
Edgar Samuel
Edgar Theodore

I really do not know how I feel about you preferring Edmond to Edmund. That bothers me.

For some reason, you being bothered by this made me laugh.I prefer Edmund personally.

Not a fan... maybe as a pet's name... I prefer Edward or Edwin... Edgar has kind of a mad scientist's sidekick ring to it and would make me think of a monster more than a little boy. Edmund's a LITTLE better, but I'm still not a fan. It's still a little clunky... and would always have the Narnia association in some people's minds. Charlotte's ok. John, I'm neutral on as it's not exciting, but the meaning is decent.

I like Edgar quite a bit. It was my grandpa's name as well, so it has special meaning for me. However, I do think it can come off sounding harsh, depending on what it is paired with.

I didn't really like it until i started watching deadliest catch, one of the guys on it is named Edgar, then i started to like it :)
I think it goes great with Charlotte & John 'Jack'

I love it. And it has literary cred.I think I even prefer Edgar over Edmund.Edgar, Charlotte, and John "Jake" are good as siblings eventhough Edgar seems a little more off-beat than the other names.

I'm sitting on the fence with this one. On one hand, it's a cool, elegant name, on the other it's a bit sinister and pretentious. There's the Edgar Allan Poe association very vivid.

Edgar, Charlotte and John would be an adorable sibset. I prefer Edmund. Imo although Edgar would be refreshng, to me it seems like a name like Ursula or Agatha, they seem so dated and harsh imo

I know an Edgaras and I can't stand him, he goes by Edgar. I'd prefer Edmund.

I automatically think of Edgar Allen Poe, which is a plus. But it also sounds dated and more like an old man's name. I knew one kid who'll be a senior in high school this year that had this name, though.Edgar, Charlotte & John "Jack" go well together.I prefer Edmund.

Absolutely love your sibset! They work very well together. I do have trouble picturing a younger Edgar, but I wouldn't find it weird. I prefer Edmund... something about the -gar kind of gets me.

I would prefer Edmund or Edward to Edgar. There's nothing particularly wrong with Edgar, I just find the 'dg' transition to be a little awkward. I do think that Edgar, Charlotte and John "Jack" sound nice together.

I think the name Edgar is evil. Most of the evil kings in movies and things are names Edgar. :) And I don't like the name. Needless to say I like Edmund more. Edgar, Charlotte and John "Jack" - Why not give the poor child a name like Edward? And John? Why not just Jack? He'll think that's his name anyway. Edward, Charlotte and Jack now that's better! :)Is there anything that you don't like about Edgar? No, it's just like I said before most of the evil kings are named Edgar and I just don't like the name. :)Nope, no combos for Edgar. Sorry!
