I'd have never imagined it on a girl and don't like the idea. I think Afton is cute, and prefer it to Ashton which is similar. Friends have a dapper young Afton, so I have positive associations with it. His sister is Aila.

To me it sound feminine, since afton is a poetic Swedish word for "evening". Can't say I'm crazy about it, though. Sounds a bit snobbish.
