Tingeling weirded me out. I thought Sweden's naming laws didn't let you name kids names associated with fictional characters. If the naming laws allow that, I'm wonder if they would allow parents to name kids Mumintrollet or Snusmumriken. My Love - This just made my day.

Yes, you can name your child after fictional characters, as long as it's not something that is considered to be a horrible burden for the child. For example, the character Beetle Bailey is called Knasen in Swedish, which literally means something like "goofy person", and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be allowed. But Tarzan, Bilbo, Caspian and Anakin are all OK.

I like:
Carl Mathias Johannes - so beautiful!
Cornelis - just because I like the singer/songwriter.
Mattis
SixtenSome other comments:
Ace - so stupid.
Adam Manne - the names are good per se, but they don't sound good together.
Edgar-Lo (Hollie-Mint) - why not just Edgar and Hollie? Edgar-Lo and Hollie-Mint sound crazy.
Ellior - he will have to spend his whole life going: "No, not Elliot! Ellior! E-L-L...oh, just forget it..."
Elvis (Elsa, Elis) - we have no imagination at all.
Melwin (Milea, Matheo, Mira) - neither have we.
Wiktor (Wilton, Walter) - tritto.
Neo Jörgen Dante - now that's a strange combo.
Noxx (Albin, Ludvig) - what!? What happened? Two totally normal, good names and then...WHAT?
Olle Ehelm - what the heck is Ehelm?
Texas - a state. Not a name.
Winton (Jovelia) - too MUCH imagination...
Ymer (Tingeling, Alicia, Samuel, Teddy, Sebastian, Nova, Arve) - as you say, all over the place.

I wondered about Ehelm too, but he's not unique. Checking the old Swedish censuses, the earliest I can find was born in 1879 and seems to have inspired a local trend because all the younger ones are born in the same area. I'm guessing family name for this baby?

I think sibsets like Vidar and Arvid are rather cool actually ... I know two sisters called Linnea and Anneli. :) But what do you do if you have a third ...?
