WDYT? Suggestions? (Girls names)
Taken from a list of old names "unheard of" today that I might like, thoughts?
Estelle
Harriet
Lisette (site says LEE- but I originally thought LIE)
Marion
Nadine
Given these possibilities, any you'd suggest? Trying to add more that do not end in -a. And popularity is a major turnoff.

I've been liking Nadine and Harriet a lot lately.
Marion and Estelle don't really make an impression on me (positive or negative), beyond: Marion reminds me of Robin Hood, and I wouldn't be surprised to meet an elderly Estelle who's a waitress in a diner or a bartender or something.
I don't like Lisette (the pronunciation seems confusing to me), although I like Liselotte and Lizette okay for other people.

My favourites from that list are Marion (but the spelling Marian is so much nicer) and Nadine. Suggestions:

Hi !!!
Estelle 8/10 I really like it! Much much better than Estella although Stella is in my heart!
Harriet 8/10 I like it a lot! Simple, youthful, elegant but with something of tomboyish that I love.
Lisette 7/10 it could be my style but..it seems quite plain.
Marion 6/10 old-favourite of mine. I much prefer both Marian and Manon.
Nadine 7/10 it could be my style but..I don't know...it seems snobbish. I prefer Nadejda.
Some suggestions..
Aisling
Kirsten
Ottilie
Candice
Noëlle
Melusine
Tamar
Lilibet
Polly
Isolde
Leonor
Avril
Charis
Shirley
Cybele
Maple
WDYTO them?

I agree about Harriet. I never liked it before but I'm sensing something about it now, strong, classic. It's growing on me the more I think about it.
I like the KEER- sound in Kirsten, but I find the -sten ending harsh.
Tamar might be a winner, and I'm a beach bum so love that it means palm tree. Do you say TAY- or TAH-?
Charis -think this was on my list for a bit way back when. Seems a little incomplete but I do like it. Not sure I like Carissa. Hmm...

I say TAH-mar ^^
Estelle is not to my taste but Stella is. Pity about the -a.
Harriet is popular - I think, deservedly - in the UK; I'd use it happily.
The only Lisette I know is Dutch, and she pronounces it liZET, like Liz + ETT.
I much prefer Marianne to Marion.
Nadine is very dated and I don't much enjoy the rhythm. Prefer Nadia, but again, there's that -a again.
What about Yvonne, or Yvette? Sally, rather than Sarah? Jean, or Joan? Rosemary or Rosamond, rather than Rose?
Elspeth, rather than Elizabeth - or how about Elsabe (pron. ELsuhbee)?

I love all of these. Totally my style. And my daughter Amalia actually has good little friend named Nadine. I've always liked her name.
Others you may like (lol I have a TON of old names that end in -a that I love but I'll not add them):
Henriette
Abilene
Beatrix
Delphine
Eloise
Sabine
Maris
Hildegard
Sylvie
Dinah
Hattie
Louise
Adelais

Estelle is cute, I’ve always liked it. I like the meaning (star) and the nn Stella isn’t awful.
Hate Harriet. Never saw the appeal of it, sounds like a mean old lady name.
The only Lisette’s I’ve ever known always pronounced it Liz-ette, like it’s spelled. I don’t hate it, I think the names actually quite nice.
Dislike Marion. Seems old and dated and I just think it’s pretty ugly.
Nadine is cute, although I always pictured someone who’s a little stuck up for some reason. Overall I like it.
What about…
• Agnes
• Cecily
• Daphne
• Edith
• Esther
• Felicity
• Jacqueline
• Josephine
• Josette
• Laurel
• Lucille
• Marguerite
• Odette
• Selene
• Winifred
