[Opinions] Mara
What do you think of Mara? What names would you suggest to go with it as a middle name? The only one I have is:Mara Elizabeth (sounds decent but not completely sold, partially since Elizabeth is overused especially as a middle name spot)Whatever name suggestions you have, I will love to hear, just please don't suggest names starting with the following letters: A,B,C, M or RThanks, really appreciate it.

Mara Elizabeth was what my aunt wanted to name her second daughter but her husband didn't like Mara sadly. He wanted to name her Michelle which also happened to be the name of one of his past girlfriends. They had a real hard time agreeing on girl names but had similar tastes in boy names. They ended up naming her Anna Elizabeth, truthfully it is really bland but Anna Banana is such a cute nn. I personally was rooting for Mara Elizabeth but Anna does suit her.I really like Mara. I prefer Clara and Samara but it is one of my favorite -ara ending names. I like Mara and Amara about equally.I go back and forth between preferring Mara and Mira, tonight I prefer Mara.Mara is a little more simple than I prefer but it is one of the more simple names that I borderline like-love. Mara is beautiful, strong, and a bit sexy.I'm going to bed or else I'd think up some combos. I'll give you the first combo that popped into my head instinctively because I like it: Mara Josephine. Although maybe Mara Justine is better or maybe Mara Juliet.

It reminds me of both Mara Wilson, which is a great association, and the demon from Buddhist theology, which is less great. I’d go with Mara Delphine, Mara Juniper, or if not for your limitations Mara Cecile or Mara Mathilde.

Mara is lovely!! I don't know why but my first instinct for a middle name was Mara Clotilda. Other ideas: Clarice, Lucinda, Penelope, Georgette, Felicity, Jacqueline, Violet. (I always do family middle names so middle name combinations aren't really my forte haha.)

Mara is my 23-year-old niece's name. My sister agonized over her name, wanting something not too popular and not trendy but also not strange and accessible. With that criteria, I think Mara was a good choice. I think it's a nice enough name. I'm not head over heels in love with it, and I wouldn't use it myself, but it's fairly pretty and there's nothing objectionable about it.My niece's middle name is Emily. That's because Emily had been my sister's favorite name for a long time, but she rejected it as a first name because of its popularity. However, I don't think that Mara Emily flows too well. Because Mara ends in a vowel and Emily starts with a vowel, it's awkward, in my opinion. The same can be said for Mara Elizabeth, actually. I was going to try to make combos using names from my PNL, but then I found that there are few on my PNL that don't start with A, B, C, M, or R and also sound good with Mara. I think the best middle name for Mara would be two syllables, not start with a vowel, and not end in an A.
