Owen or Oliver?
I'm torn between these two names. Actually, I love Owen. It's my number one. But I think Oliver has more good middle name possibilities. Here are a few of my top combos for each one:Owen Seth (My #1, but I know alot of people don't like Seth)
Owen Scott
Oliver Zane (I also really love this one)
Oliver NicholasI also love Nicholas Owen, but I really think I'd rather use Owen as a first name, and Owen Nicholas doesn't sound right. The n's run together. So, which one- Owen or Oliver? And can you suggest any other middle names? (Feel free to look at my PNL for ideas!)TIA!

Owen for sure.I don't love Owen, but Oliver just sounds gross to me--like a combination of olive and liver, a disgusting color plus a disgusting food. Like a green piece of meat. Owen, while perhaps not the most stimulating name to me, is nice enough, respectable, and doesn't conjure the same kind of repulsive imagery that Oliver does. I wouldn't discourage Owen. :-)The only possible appeal of Oliver to me is the nickname Noll, which I love. But the little hitch of detesting Oliver is a big roadblock. :-P I'd use Noll as a nickname for Nicholas, though, if I felt so inclined. If you're up for considering other O names, ones that I like to some degree are Oscar / Oskar, Osku, Otto, and Odhran. I think Owen Nicholas sounds nice. I tend to prefer the longer style of Nicholas as a middle name when it's in a combo with a shorter, "not a nickname but feels a little nicknamey because of it's length and some other quality I can't put my finger on" type of name like Owen.Owen's a pretty versatile name; it has a neutral enough sound that it pairs well with a lot of names without overpowering them or being easily mismatched. Reminds me of William and Thomas in that respect--just seems to fit with everything. Other middle names that I like paired with Owen, some from your PNL, include:Owen William (I like the repetition of Ws)

Owen by far. I do like Oliver, but not quite as much.I really love Owen Scott and Nicholas Owen (although I would rather see Owen as a fn and agree with you). I really don't care for Oliver Zane or Oliver Nicholas.

Oliver Nicholas is definitely my favorite combo.

OWEN!!!Owen is my number one top name for boys. Some combos:Owen Matthew
Owen James
Owen Wyatt
Owen William
Owen Cole
I really like Owen Scott, too. Consider this: You really like Owen, but you can find better middle names for Oliver. How often do you use middle names. I would go with the best first name first, then worry about middle names. (Though I really like Oliver Zane- even though I don't really like Oliver)*Sharon

Eoin? mSorry. I just love Eoin, and I hate Owen. Dunno. So, Oliver, although I dislike it as well. In order:
Oliver Zane
Nicholas Owen
Owen Scott / Eoin Scott
Oliver Nicholas
Owen Seth / Eoin Seth

Hehe, I like Eoin better than Owen, too, but I wouldn't ever use it--too confusing for Americans. :b

Owen!I like both names, but I like Owen the best. I have Owen Nicholas as a possible combo myself, Nicholas being my husband's name. The ns do kind of run together, but it doesn't bother me that much. I like Oliver Nicholas too. I don't like Seth or Zane at all, and not really Scott either. From your PNL these are my suggestions:Oliver Edward
Oliver Gideon
Oliver James
Oliver Reese (I like Rhys better)Owen Connor (another one of my combos) :)
Owen Everett
Owen Jamesand if you like the double letter thing, I think Oliver Owen or Owen Oliver are nice too.

I personally much prefer Oliver, but if the only reason you'd pick it over Owen is because of better middle name possibilities, that's no fun! =P I'd go with Owen in your case, if that's what you ultimately prefer. That said, I like Owen Seth, and Oliver Seth would be pretty awesome. Oliver Zane and Oliver Nicholas are cool too.

Oliver Zane is awesome!!!

I prefer Owen. Owen Scott flows a bit better than Owen Seth does, but Seth seems more "fresh" to me than Scott since Scott was overused around the 70s. How about Owen Zane as a combo? I also really like how Oliver Zane flows.

Both names are nice, but I slightly prefer Oliver.
It comes down to the image I have of each, an Owen would be slightly more rugged, an Oliver more refined. Maybe that's weird. :P
Oliver Zane is my favourite of your combos, Zane's cowboy chic-ness balances Oliver very nicely. And it flows well.

I find Owen a bit trendy and rising in popularity at the moment, but I adore Oliver. However, if you love Owen, despite how well a mn might "flow" with it, I think you should go with Owen. Owen Seth and Owen Scott are both very nice, but I do really love Oliver Zane. :) I find Nicholas horribly boring, as a fn or a mn, but I know quite a few of them.

I like Oliver better, though they're both nice. Oliver Zane is cool!

Ooh... its a hard choice.Owen Seth and Oliver Zane are great combinations! That being said, I prefer Oliver as a first name. Owen seems like the overly used trendy name. Oliver seems fresh to me.

I like Owen Scott, it flows well together.Owen Seth doesn't flow but I do love the two names!
