Gemma Doyle is a Libba Bray character. She sees visions and can enter the realms. There are three books, but I've only read the first two -- A Great and Terrible Beauty and Rebel Angels. The third came out December 26, but for the life of me I can't think of the title except for one word -- so. Anyway, I like the name. However, I sense it will rise in popularity (like someone before me mentioned).....both for Emma with a G and the name itself.

I like it. I haven't met anyone with the name before, but I know my mom's teaching assistant has a sister named that. They were born in Italy.

I really like Gemma and don't find it too popular, however, its similarity to Emma is obvious which is why I wouldn't seriously consider it. My fave Gemma combo is Gemma Claire.

I love the name Gemma. It's always been a fave of mine. It gets used pretty steadily over here in Australia, but it isn't crazy popular. I like Gemma Ruby, Gemma Lily, Gemma Rose, Gemma Lucy, Gemma Katherine, Gemma Kate, Gemma Iris, Gemma Phoebe, Gemma Hayley, Gemma Celeste, Gemma Sophie, Gemma Felicity, Gemma Violet and Gemma Elizabeth. The list could go on and on!

It's not popular at all. I've only known one in my entire life, and it isn't listed in the popularity ranks.
I like it. It's on my list of possibilities.
