I was surprised to discover some new underlying trends in my name preferences.
Male Top 3: August (love the wholesome yet dashing feeling of this name), Errol (personal meaning, honoring an inspirational artist - Errol Morris), Theodore (classic)
Runners Up
Sounds I find attractive: Evander, Eleazar, Alden, Almanzo
Unusual and interesting: Zephyr, Leif, Soren, Azriel, Orion, Atticus, Errol, Wilder
Classically handsome: Matthias, Dorian, Felix
Female Top 3: Athena (classic beauty and a strong meaning), Léonie (unusual without being unpronounceable, soft without being overly girly), Cecily
Runners-Up
Frilly/Classic names I would have dismissed as too ephemeral in the past but have been charming me of late, especially when paired with a modern/strong sounding nickname: Florence, Juliette, Seraphina, Genevieve,
Classic but interesting: Blythe, Viola, Calliope, Ophelia
Strong and a little off-beat: Elowen, Ramona
Word names: Clementine, Magnolia, Mirabelle, Soleil

Favorite Male Names: Ephraim, Matthias, & Soren.
Least Favorite Male Names: Leof, Lemeul, & Winston.
Favorite Lady Names: Cordelia, Delphine, & Matilda.
Least Favorite Lady Names: (many of these names involve tragic tales of suffering and loss, so the following names I pick involve those with whom I most empathize, rather than sonority, popularity--or lack thereof, or practicality: Eloise, Ophelia, & Philomena.
OF louers sad calamities of old,
Full many piteous stories doe remaine,
But none more piteous euer was ytold,
Then that of Amorets hart-binding chaine,
And this of Florimels vnworthie paine:
The deare compassion of whose bitter fit
My softened heart so sorely doth constraine,
That I with teares full oft doe pittie it,
And oftentimes doe wish it neuer had bene writ. Edmund Spencer

Boys favourites:
Apollo - Sorry, I love the 1960s and space.
Evander - I just like it.
Orion - Again, I love space.
Boys least favourites:
Winston - Sorry it's the name of my cousins dog so I associate it with a dog's name.
Dexter - Again, I know so many dogs called Dexter.
Boaz - I just find it unattractive, the spelling.
Girls favourites:
Adeline - One of my favourite names, so beautiful.
Florence - Another one of my favourite names, again beautiful.
Lavinia - Same as both of the above.
Least favourite girls names (This is hard, I love so many):
Avalon - Just not for me.
