That doesn't bother me. I don't like matchy matchy twin names. Twins are pretty common in my family and most of them don't actually have matchy names.

I can think of one mismatched twin set right off the top of my head. My dd, Anna, has a bff named Elisha (male) and his twin is Brittany. I kid you not. I still haven't gotten over that one yet. It just seems so incongruous to me. There is a younger sister named Mikayla so it's apparent that the parents like trendy/modern names. Still not sure where Elisha came from!

I agree with you on Shelby and Victoria which have two completely different vibes to them.

I know a couple who has twin girls named Fanny and Gwendoline. Both names sound like they're on very different wavelengths. (According to them, the mom picked one twin's name and the dad picked the other).

My math teacher from last year's kids' names are very mismatched. Her first two kids are Lana and Mateo, but her third kid is named Claude. (Claude is a boy, BTW.) All three of them have the same father. The first two names sound so modern to my French ears, but Claude's kind of an old man name. It really surprised me.

James and Sunny

Two of my brothers, born roughly two years apart: Matthew and Geordie. Not too odd, I guess, but Matthew was the most popular boy's name that year in addition to just being one of those "classic" names throughout the English speaking world, and Geordie is kind of super obscure and specifically Scottish. (The full sibset, in order: Esther, Charlotte, Aidan, Raymond, Matthew, Geordie, Benjamin, Charles.)

Fictional (Marvel/X-Men) sibset: Charles, Cain, and Raven, though it is explained in universe by Cain be a step-sibling and Raven being adopted.

Madeleine and Max - I always found that a little odd
Robert, William, Alexander and Alfie
Joanna and Robyn (both girls)
Judith, Lucy and Dominic
Elicia, Ethan and Hendrik

I went to high school with twins named Matthew and Marlin. I always found that unexpected.
