At fifty Jannik does think about retirement sometime, as he recently admitted to Chae-Won, despite him loving Korea and feeling at home there he would like to return to Denmark for retirement and surprisingly she was not opposed to his plan and with their kids slowly flying out of the nest to different places across the globe they are already plotting their big move. Ji-su has turned out to be a valuable player for Oregon State University team, and according to his agent his MLB place is already a given, the only question remains which team will get the honour. He met his girlfriend on a blind date set up by his friends, he really did not want to go there and the first impressions of her were not good as she arrived late, but somehow the date turned out great, they found out they had many things in common including their hate for lateness and by the third date he asked her to be his girlfriend. Just like him she will be graduating soon and the plan is for the two of them to move together after university. Axel now lives in Denmark and attends Technical University of Denmark, just as his dad did. He lives in the dorms but visits with his Danish relatives very often. After going back and forth Iseul decided to pursue athletics, she is the reigning national U18 champion at 800m and nearly cracked the Korean 800 m U18 record last season. Freja and Julian got married a year ago in a small church near Frankfurt in Germany, midway between their hometowns, they now live full time in Korea and have recently opened their own English language school. They are also expecting their first child, a daughter, in three months’ time.

Francis has retired early and when he does not spend time with his family, he can be for sure found somewhere out visiting the hidden places all around the country, he made it his mission to travel across the United Kingdom during his retirement. Maryam on the other hand has no plans to retire any time soon and is still fully committed to her job at British Museum. Vivienne and Barnaby have taken the leading positions in their fathers’ law firm with Barnaby’s father being the advisor and Francis fully retiring. After having Ivo six years ago, they welcomed a daughter to the family four years ago and are expecting another son any day now, their last baby. They have also recently moved out of their apartment in Kensington and purchased a house in Kinston-upon-Thames. Thalassa has decided that for the time being she will not pursue higher education. Instead, she is working on her show jumping rider career. While Francis and Maryam are supporting her, they are a bit worried she does not have anything to fall back on in case her career does not develop the way she wants it to. Vittoria’s figure skating career ended before she even reached the senior ranks, with a leg injury, it was either medals or rest of the life in pain, pretty easy decision even for a sixteen-year-old. The transition from a high-level junior athlete into a normal teenager was pretty rough, for a while she felt as if she had no purpose in life anymore. But if figure skating taught her anything it was focus and determination and soon, she found her new calling and decided to become air traffic controller. After finishing her high school education, she started training to become one. She has known her boyfriend since they were little kids, but admitted she had feelings for him only about a year ago. Her Bf is studying to become an accountant and works as a volunteer firefighter in his free time. At seventeen Francesco has grown out of nonna’s kitchen; while finishing school he has started apprenticeship in a restaurant in Milano. Edo spend last summer in a palaeontology camp and as he says, those have been the best two months of his life. He can barely wait to graduate high school and start his university studies. Raffaella has discovered her love for reading in the past few years and you can often find her tucked away in a corner with book in her hands, she is still very much into academics and enjoys history and geography the most. Lorenzo is still into figure skating, but unlike any of his parents he found his calling in ice dance.
