I really like Jude, though I probably wouldn't use it, or at least not as first name.My suggestions to pair it with areJude Abel
Jude Alexander
Jude Amos
Jude Cornelius
Jude Elijah
Jude Emmanuel
Jude Ezra
Jude Felix
Jude Gabriel
Jude Lemuel
Jude Nathaniel
Jude Raphael
Jude Samson
Jude Samuel
Jude SimeonI don't really like Anastasia, particularly its spelling. I would use it as the middle name if I was you. Otherwise she would be called Ana or Stacy right away - and I don't think that's how it should be with a name.I like Lilith, but yes, the pronounciation is troublesome, I must admit. I really like Lily although I know it is very common.I also like Lilia, Lili, Lilian as well as Lilja.

Jude is masculine in my mind. I like it.Anastasia is a fabulous name, imo. I'd go with the classic nn Anya.I like Lilith - I understand there is a negative religious connotation, but not being religious I wouldn't know or care. It's more mature than Lily.

I like Jude, and I have yet to meet one. To me, it's a name that could fit on a little boy or a grown man. Some mn ideas: Jude Lysander, Jude Malachi, Jude Patrick, Jude Theodore, Jude Elliott, Jude Marshall, and any of the -son names would work well imo (Jameson, Anderson, etc.). Anastasia isn't to long to me, but it will be too long for a lot of people. Most people give nicknames to those with a two-syllable name, so a four-syllable one will definitely get nns. Ana is the one most would go for, but I like Stasia and Tasia. Lilith doesn't bother me at all, nor do names ending in the th sound.

Are you asking about a name for a girl?If so, as much as I adore Jude it's just waaaay to masculine for a girl.Anastasia is lovely and I adore Lilith, as long as you can get over the devil connection.

Uh, no, definitely not for a girl. Though I'm pleased you think it's masculine, some people I've mentioned it to irl don't think it is. maybe because Judy and Julie are more common.

I actually prefer Judah to Jude, which is saying something. Love the song; fall asleep over the novel. Wouldn't use it. Never seen it used IRL where I live either, if that means anything.Lilith is blandly pretty and not worth bothering about, but I do prefer it to Gwyneth. I don't enjoy Lily names in general, but Lilian and Elizabeth are better than Lily as a stand-alone.Anastasia has very heavy religious overtones to me. Which is fine if you share them. The obvious nns would be Ann or Stacey - I know a Stacey-Ann whose parents were looking for an alternative to Anastasia, which is apparently over-used in their family.

1. It makes me think of the song Hey Jude.
2. I don't think Anastasia is overly long. Anna would make an alright nickname.
3. Honestly I don't really like any of them. If I had to choose I say Lily.

Jude: Hate it, it sounds ugly, and I guarantee every Jude will hear "Hey Jude" a million times in his lifetime. Even by people not trying to tease him with the song.
Anastasia: I would not use it but it's a cool name. It's long, sure, but familiar to most people. There's Anastasia Krupnik in the Lois Lowry tween book series, who never went by any nickname. There's Anna, Annie, or Stacia or Stacy.
Lilith: Ugh. So ugly sounding. I don't like most th sounding names, and this one sounds worse because of the lil sound in front of it. I don't like the lily names as a group, they're fairly spineless except possibly Lillian, but I still don't like that one.

I'm not personally a big fan of Jude but I met a Jude the other day (he's 7) and it suited him. I'd pair it with something long like Alexander or Ezekiel (if you're okay with a name that Biblical).I love the name Anastasia. I like the nn "Annie" for it but I know a little Anastasia (she's 4) and sometimes she gets called "Stasia" which is cute.I don't really like names ending in "th" I have to say. My favourite form of Lily is Lilia =)Hope that helps.

Jude Ezekiel! I love that. I was trying to think of long names to go with it and I don't seem to have many on my list.

I like Jude. I know a little Judah nn Jude and both names have grown on me a lot. How about
Jude Amadeus
Jude Benjamin
Jude Emmanuel
Jude Avery
Jude Emery
Jude Alessandro
Jude Nathaniel
Jude Anthony - this might be my favourite
Jude Nicholas
Jude Dominic (although they do run together a bit)
Jude OliverAnastasia is long but what bugs me about Anastasia is that it just feels like trying hard to be exotic and seductive. Ana would be my nickname of choice. But there are quite a few options: Ann, Ana, Ani, Staci, Asia, Tasia, Tasi (tay-zee). Lilith is okay. I don't have anything against the th ending. My favourite form of Lily is Lilibet.

Do you like it and what middle name would you pair it with?
- I think Jude is a really nice name, it's quite handsome actually. That said, I do personally prefer Judah. As for a mn for Jude, well I quite like the sound of Jude Isaiah, Jude Felix, Jude Maximilian, Jude Leonardo, Jude Raphael, Jude Remington, Jude Sebastian, Jude Alexander, Jude Asher, Jude Gabriel, Jude Henry, Jude Solomon, Jude Samuel, Jude Isaac, Jude Barnaby, Jude Christian, Jude Nathaniel and Jude Ari.Do you think Anastasia is too long? What nickname would you use?
- It is rather a long name and I prefer it as a mn for that reason. I would probably use Annie as the nn.Do you like names ending in th or do they sound lispy to you? What is your favourite form of Lily?
- Not a big fan of names ending in th and the reason is the sound. My favourite form of Lily is Lily, but I also love Lilia, Liliana and Lillian.

Jude: Love it. I also like Judah but that's harder to get away with.Anastasia: I used to love it because it was long and princessy but now, with my coworker reading 50 Shade of Puke, it's lost its charm. Same thing happened to Isabella and Twicrap. NN: AnaLilith: I like it and all but I just see wannabe Goth girls. Or badly written vampires. I don't mind names ending in -th. It depends on how the name sounds in its entirety. Lily is one of my most favorite names and it's so so so hard to choose a favorite. Lillian, Lily, Lilias, Lilia... all of them. Ha. However, out of all the many Lily names, I'd say Lillian is the most grounded.

Oh I completely forgot 50 shades. I guess I just pretend that its not a book that will make enough of a lasting impression to tarnish the name.
vote up1
Please, do forget it. If I didn't hear it all the time right now I probably wouldn't think of it either. I doubt it'll make a lasting impression (though it did outsell Harry Potter and JK has that funny quote about it so who knows).

50 Shades of Puke and Twicrap. Nice.
How about Harry Pisspot and Game of Throw-Up?

I love Jude and if I lived in a country where middle names are used I'd name a son Gabriel Jude.I also love Anastasia and it's on my list of possible names to honor my grandmother Ana.I like just plain Lily best. Lilith is ok, but it does sound a bit lispy (not all th name do though, I like Elisabeth and Shulamith for example).

Just curious about Croatia not using middle names. Do you mean it's not common or traditional to use them? Or you are not allowed?
vote up1
It's legal to use one middle name (and two last names, btw), but almost no one uses them. It's actually seen as a bit pretentious to use middle name and when used they are always regarded as double first names and must always be included in all paperwork and forms (for school, work, etc.) and it is assumed that people are called by both names.*there are rare exceptions for names that are compounds (like Ana Marija/ Ana-Marija/ Anamarija) and used commonly (mostly it's saints' names)

Now I'm curious.... Do you have kids? If so, did you use middle names?
Do you want to have kids one day? Do you plan to use middle names?
vote up1
LOL!
No, I don't have kids.
Yes, I want kids and no, they're not going to have middle names.
I do however plan to use Ana-Sofia as a double name (both name will be used all the time). I would also consider using Marija Magdalena as a double name, but since I like Magdalena much more I'll probably just use it as a first name. And just to mention it, no one in my family has a middle name and no one I went to school had a middle name (apart from the before-mentioned Ana Marija). They seem to have become more popular since the 1990s, but I still only know 3 people with middle names in my day-to-day life (and they all use them as double barreled names, just as if they have a hyphen).ETA: I haven't given this much though, so haven't researched it, but I think it's a Slavic thing. Most of us don't use middle names in the way they're used in English (patronymics don't count, since you don't get to choose those, so it's more like having two last names).
