Peter is my all time favorite name for a boy. So Petra starts with the wind at its back. I love the sound of Petra, as well as the fact that it is an under-the-radar classic. It's known, but not overly used. I see no down-side to Petra, except the similarity to petrol. As long as the middle name doesn't start with an L the petrol thing shouldn't be a problem.Petra Vivien and Petra Sylvie are my stock combos for it. :0)

I think Petra is very cool. The impression I get from it is a cool, sophisticated, perhaps ultimately somewhat spunky/tough, exotic young foreign woman. I don't like Peter (Petra could be a female version of it) but Petra just calls to me.Combo ideas:Petra Anais
Petra Azalea
Petra Camille
Petra Caroline
Petra Cateline
Petra Cecily / Petra Cicely / Petra Cecilia
Petra Clementine
Petra Delphine
Petra Emilia
Petra Emmeline
Petra Florence
Petra Francesca
Petra Genevieve
Petra Gwendolen
Petra Ingrid
Petra Isabelle
Petra Ivy
Petra Josephine
Petra Lovisa
Petra Marguerite

I'm not a fan. I had a boss named Petra (not a bad one) and I've been to Petra in Jordan (beautiful place) but it's just so harsh sounding. I prefer soft names for both boys and girls so I would never ever consider Petra. I prefer Petronella.Combos? I like Petra Sophia.

I used to know a Petra. People would call her "peetra" all the time and it annoyed her. I don't think I ever knew her middle name. Petra Aurelia is pretty.

I like both Petra and Peter! I think Pebbles makes for a fun nickname as well! Petra Elizabeth might work!

If you don't copyright Pebbles as a nickname for Petra I'm going to steal it. :0P Or, how about Rocky? :0)
