Which one.
Thinking about girl names. Which do you like best and which one goes with Theodora best. With potential nicknames.1) Wilhelmina "Bill/Billie"
2) Edwina "Eddie"
3) Rowena "Rowie"
(I should mention that Eddie is a bit of a honouring nickname as husband and I both have grandfathers that are Edmund & Edward)

Wow, this is the first time I've ever seen Edwina on this post. My mother and grandmother's name is Edwina. My mom always goes by Eddi. I really Edwina, it sounds pretty. My mom always hated her name, lol. ---------Favorites:Audrey, Martha, Lydia, Phoebe, Corinne, Veronica, Matilda, Rita, Victoria, Mildred, Edwina, Clara, Jocelyn, ApoloniaAnthony, Damien, Alexander, Valentine, Maximilian, James, Daniel, Vincent, Matthew, Andreas, Theodore, Christopher----------------Rate my PNL: http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/166097/112886

WILHELMINA!!!I love it. Adore it with Theodora. DO IT.

With Theodora, I'd go with Wilhelmina. Though, I think Helena, Josephine, Irina, Xenia, Penelope, Katarina, Alexandra, and Eugenia are better complements to Theodora.

I think Wilhelmina is very pretty but I don't care for Billie as a NN. Maybe Willa or Winnie? I also like Rowena but again don't care for the NN. I would use Rowen or Roe. Edwina is a nice tribute to your family.

If Rowena is Ro-ENN-uh, then definitely the whimsical, magical Rowena. If not, then the dramatic, slightly dark and mysterious Wilhelmina.

I love Wilhelmina with the nickname Billie. So vintage and sweet and sounds right at home with Theodora! Please vote on my PNL! (-:

Theodora & WilhelminaEdwina & Rowena sound unpleasant-especially when said out loud. Wilhelmina is very beautiful.

Rowena. I like Wilhelmina a lot, but with Willa for a nickname. Billie on a girl here is very 80's hillbilly, like Bobbie, so I am unable to separate it from that.

Rowena. I don't think Rowie is an ideal nickname, but I really dislike boyish names on girls, and at least it's not boyish. I do like Rowena as a full name.

Wilhelmina is the best, but honestly, I really don't like the idea of having two girls with obviously feminized versions of male names PLUS boyish nns. Even if it isn't your intention it really does come off as "well, we were planning on two boys but it didn't work out that way so here's the next best thing."

Yeah, it's tricky because pretty much all our favourite girl namesa re feminised versions of male names. (It's ironic because we don't like William or Edwin!). The only female name we like is Winifred and that got some horrible reactions when we considered it for Theodora.

Theodora Wilhelmina - Maybe something too long-windedTheodora Edwina - Also quite nice, there is nothing to be said against it Theodora Rowena - My favourite out of these (ideas)
NN's could be Minnie or Mina, Winnie or Eddie, Weena or EenaWhat about Theodora Romina, Theodora Rowana, Theodora Ramona, Theodora Rozhina ?

RowenaI love Rowena and it gets my vote. Have you considered Ronnie or Renie as nn?

All three of those go with Theodora very very well. The trouble is none of them are even half as nice as THeodora. :( BUt I would Wilhelmina, because the -wina/wena endings sounds so whiny to me.

I think that they all go equally well with Theodora - nn Theo if I am remembering correctly. My favorite full name is Wilhelmina, followed by Rowena. I like Rowena and Edwina but I love Wilhelmina. My favorite nn is Eddie, followed closely by Billie. I don't quite like any of these nn's. I prefer Ro as a nn for Rowena if any is used. I hate Bill as a nn just in general but Billie is okay. Neddie could also be a nn for Edwina.

I like Wilhelmina and Rowena. I think I slightly prefer Rowena with Theodora.

As far as the whole package goes, I prefer Rowena because Rowie is cute as well. I like Wilhelmina best on its own but I really dislike Billie. I'd prefer Willa, tho that's prob too pedestrian for you. They're all very stylish though and go well with Theodora. Have y'all been calling her by a nickname?

I've occasionally been calling her Theo. I prefer Theodora as a full name for the most part. Husband pretty much calls her Theo exclusively. Teddy never really panned out as it doesn't suit her!Willa is cute. I think that's why I like Wilhelmina so much, so many possible nicknames.

That's part of why I also love Wilhelmina so much.Willa
Wilma
Mina
Minnie
Winnie
Willie
Billie
Will
Bill
Elma
Velma
Helma
Helmi
HelmineMaybe there are more possibilities that I'm not thinking of.

I like Wilhelmina I think it is a beautiful name and I like the nickname Willa or Minna for it, though Billie is cute. Then I like Rowena though not a fan of Rowie, Edwina is nice as an honouring middle name perhaps. Please Vote PNL: http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/151224

I'm sorry you think Rowena needs a nn. Wilhelmina is very long and comes with a truckload of possible nns, none of which I like on a girl.Edwina is beautiful, elegant, dignified and stylish. Eddie, not so much! For me, it would be a toss-up between Rowena and Edwina: I'd want to use Edwina for family reasons, but I'd rather have it as a mn except it doesn't go well with Rowena! Since two out of your three are fem versions, might you consider other fem versions as well? I'm thinking Antonia, Cecily, Harriet ...

I don't mind Antonia & Cecily. Though I don't know what nickname i'd use.. I don't like ToniHarriet we can't use as our cats name ;)

I like Rowina best. Eddie's ok too, I don't care much for Wilhelmina.

I like Rowena bestI can't get over the Edwina Currie association to like Edwina (but I'm sure that's just a British thing)Not a fan of Wilhelmia. I think of that women from ugly berry

I like Rowena best, if pronounced ro-enn-a and not ro-ee-na. For nicknames I'd go with Rowen or Wenna/Wen. I find Rowie awkward and unattractive. The best fit with Theodora in my opinion is Wilhelmina "Billie". Bill is just too masculine to me. But I have known female Billies and don't mind it. Edwina "Eddie" is the least attractive name on the list.

I think Theodora and Wilhelmina work the best. I love Billie for a girl, always have.
