What do you think of Cian (KEE-in)? I like it a lot, despite it's popularity. Also, what are your favourite "Rose" names? Rosemary, Rosanne etc. Thanks :)Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Cian is fine. I would have said it as SY-an on first glance, though.I LOVE Rose, but don't really like any other Rose names. Rosemary is fine.

Don't like the name Rose. But I knew a baby that was named Rosita. She was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen and the name fit her perfectly.

I like Cian quite a bit, but I'd probably never use it just because it would be horribly butchered (misspelled and mispronounced) in the U.S. Along the same lines, I also like Cillian & Ciaran for boys and Ciara for a girl (but the last is used in the U.S. and pronounced like Sierra...blech). I LOVE so many Rose names, including Rose (but as a fn only!). Others, in order of how well I like them right this minute :b ...
Rosalie
Rosemary
Rosanna
Rosalind
Rosamund

Ciara / SierraI agree, it irked me so much when I found out the singer, Ciara, pronounces it 'see-AIR-uh'. What the heck?!I can forgive people for not knowing how to pronounce a name they see; but not for giving their own child a name, without learning how it's said first! *Fumes*_____________________________________________________________________Elinor"If you want to make a sound like James Blunt singing, simply take one fork, and drag it down a greasy plate."

Cian's a very beautiful name, even though it is popular- about three of my relatives on my mum's side are named Cian!
As for 'Rose' names, Rose is probably the only one I like, unless Rosalind counts (or does it?).

I like Cian. To me it's a name that's simple without being boring at the same time. My favorite "Rose" name is just Rose. :-) I also like Rosalie and Rosemary.
