[Opinions] Beryl
This girls' name has been growing on me for quite a while. It's not fashionable, but I think it's very pretty. What do you think of Beryl? What would you pair it with?

I used to know a lady named Beryl, though she , and, I suppose, her parents, pronounced it "Burl". Which must have been wrong. However, she was nice, and very pretty,so I don't have a bad impression of the name.

Eh, I think it's anything but pretty. I picture a squat, toad-like old woman with beer breath when I hear this name.I can't think of any combos because I hate it so much. Sorry.

Beryl is a huge clumsy galloping brute of a name.

LOL, I couldn't have said it better. It makes me think of barrel. What if she's round shaped? Just a no-go, imo.

It's one of my least favourite names, unfortunately! I'm someone who really likes Gertrude (a name some find hideous), and other names with hard Gs, Ts and ERTs, but i cannot tolerate Beryl. It's irredeemably old-lady. The B is what really kills it for me. I don't mind some -ruhl names, but I prefer them for boys: Erroll, Carroll.

It's odd and maybe a bit clunky, but for some reason I like it. I used it in the Sims for a quirky, kind of goofy aspiring musician. :)

I would be delighted to see a little Beryl.

My dad's cousin Beryl would be 100 this year. I would pair it with something more traditional, not a new/ trendy name.

Personally, I think it's a little weird. It doesn't sound pretty to me at all. It simply sounds like barrel. Plus I once did a science research project on Beryl.... It just doesn't sound like a name to me.
