Alexandra, the oldest Ilocano grandchild, caused quite a stir when she began dating a commoner's son. Her parents are not impressed, but Alexandra doesn't care. She and Ethan are madly in love and won't let anyone tell them otherwise. Her younger sister Josephine is terribly jealous and has been trying her best to find a boyfriend of her own.

Juliana and Sofia dearly wanted to have a child, but were convinced it would never be able to happen for them. So when a newborn girl was abandoned on the palace doorstep, they didn't hesitate to take her in. Their daughter Katarina is now five and their family has grown a lot since then. Not only have they adopted three more children, they are also caring for four foster children. Same-sex parenting has drawn some raised eyebrows, but Sofia and Juliana have never been too bothered by what other people think.
