I like it. Love the nickname Bea, it is the name of a seahorse in one of my kids books.I think I like Beatrice better than Beatrix.

The first person I think of when I hear Beatrice is the Beatrice in the book/movie 'Hoot'. I like the name though :) It's so known it's uncommon. It's nice in that way also the name is cute and spunky. I would spell Bea with just a B instead but it doesn't matter.

I kind of always think "beat rice" to myself, and probably would never choose the name for my own favorites list, but I could live with it on someone else's kid. I do love the nn Bea. Have you seen Kate Winslet's movie Hideous Kinky? There's an adorable little girl in that movie named Bea.

I still see it as an very old fashioned typed name that fits a Golden Girl more than a "modern" little baby girl.

I think Beatrice is beautiful and classy with literary associaions (Dante, Shakespeare).Though I don't care for the nn Bea. Why must every name have a nn? If I absolutely wanted a nn, I would name her Beatrix and use Trixie as nn."But it’s all right now.

I absolutely adore the name Beatrice, especially with the nickname Bea! It's a family name for me and I think it's very elegant and even royal but would work well for a little girl today! My sister's middle name is Beatrix and her nickname is Bea. She was named after my father's great-aunt Beatrice Elena (aka Auntie Bea). Some middle name suggestions:
Beatrice Elena
Beatrice Mary
Beatrice Alexandra
Beatrice Helena
Beatrice Pearl
Beatrice Joy
Beatrice Christine
Beatrice Elizabeth
Beatrice Rose
Beatrice Charlotte
Beatrice Louise
Beatrice Augusta
Beatrice Caroline
Beatrice Victoria
Beatrice Isabel
Beatrice Claire
Beatrice Henrietta
Beatrice Abigail
Beatrice Catherine / Katherine
