WDYT of Gemma?
Despite the fact that it has such a trendy sound (its one letter away from being Emma), I have always liked Gemma. I like the meaning. I like that its Italian. I just think it sounds sweet. WDYT of Gemma?Any mn ideas? I am thinking it would need something a bit more weighty.... Gemma Winifred, maybe, or Gemma Lucinda?WDYT of Lucia? pr. LOO-sha. Lucia Evangeline? Lucia Pandora?

I adore Gemma! It's on my PNL (and this is coming from an Emma-hater).Some of my favorite Gemma combos are:
Gemma Francesa (probably one of my all-time favorite combos)
Gemma Isadora
Gemma Emmanuelle
Gemma Valentine (val-un-TEEN)
Gemma Lucia (loo-SEE-uh)
Gemma Octavia
Gemma Valencia
Gemma Raffaella
Gemma Mercedes
Gemma LouisaAs for Lucia, I love it when pronounced loo-SEE-uh. The LOO-sha reminds me too much of the British slang word for bathroom :/ It's funny though because I love Louisa and Louis.

When my mum was pregnant with my sister she couldn't think of a girl's name she liked, so I suggested Gemma and she used it. Now I kinda regret it 'cos I'd like to use it myself! It's a lovely name.S xx

I've always loved the name Gemma. I too love the sound and meaning. Gemma Rose was always on my list, although it's quite predictable. I also love Gemma Ruby, Gemma Kate, Gemma Lily, Gemma Lucy, Gemma Sophie, Gemma Celeste, Gemma Violet, Gemma Phoebe and Gemma Rachel.Lucia is nms.

I've always had an affinity for Gemma, but much in the way I like Felicity and Phillippa (nn Pippa). I don't think I'd ever use it, but I do like it in theory. It's cute, but not TOO cutsey, IMO.

I like Gemma about 100 times more than Emma. I'm not sure of middle names. I love Lucia, but LOO-sha is my least favorite pronunciation of the name. The combos are nice.

Interesting. I KNOW I made a reply to this. But where is it? ... I like the name Lucia and both combos, and I like the name Gemma, but neither combo, although I agree it needs a sturdy name, but Winifred sounds clunky and I'm just not keen on Lucinda. Perhaps Gemma Corinne? Gemma Tamsin?

I like Gemma. I think the 'G' saves it from total trendiness and the association with the über-popular Emma.I agree that it doesn't need a longer middle name. Gemma Laurentine
Gemma Fiorella
Gemma Victoria
Gemma Ophelia
Gemma Seraphina
Gemma Apollonia
Gemma Eleanor
Gemma Cecilia
Gemma Josephine
Gemma Estella
Gemma Harriet
Gemma Isabelle
Gemma WilhelminaI love Lucia. I prefer the pronunciation 'loo-SEE-ah', but it's really a lovely name no matter how it's pronounced.Lucia Evangeline is perfect, while Pandora is a little to eccentric and flighty for the elegant and refined Lucia.
