I adore it! It's actually the name DH and I originally had picked out for our daughter (we named her Mabel Susannah instead), and our combos were Louisa Charlotte & Louisa Bess. Louisa Frances is nice, too.

I don't like it. It still seems very dated to me. Also, I don't find the sound of it particularly pleasant for some reason. I have the same problem with Louise. I'll try my hand at some combos anyway though just because I like making combos. :)Louisa Harriet
Louisa Magdalene
Louisa Marian
Louisa Vivian

Louisa Suzanne
Louisa Violet
Louisa Elspeth
Louisa Nimue

I love the sweetly retro Louisa. It's gorgeous and familiar without being overdone. I've only met one in my entire life. In fact, Louisa would likely be the name of my next dd. And this is coming from someone who had a cat with the same name. (Well, actually, her name was Louisa May Allcat (Lulu).)Combos that I put together:Louisa Claire
Louisa Eve
Louisa Jane
Louisa Juliet
Louisa Madeleine -- This is the one I'd probably use.
Louisa Marigold
Louisa MargaretBTW, as much as I love Louisa, I really don't care for Louise at all. That one letter makes all the difference to me.

I love it. It makes me think of Louisa May Alcott, whose work I love. It's elegant and pretty without being OTT. Louisa April
Louisa Karen
Louisa Mairead

I used to hate it, but I'm really starting to like it. I don't know what changed my mind; maybe it's because I realized it was Louis with an "A" at the end, and I love Louis. Anyway, it's pretty.

I adore Louisa. It's one of a handful of girl names I actually like. I don't like Louise at all but Louisa has a completely different feel to it in my opinion. (I pronounce it loo-ee-sah)

I like Louisa well enough as long as it's pronounced loo-EES-ah, *not* loo-EEZ-ah (don't like Louise at all). However, I do find it a bit dated--but that's possibly because my mom's longtime friend is names Louisa, so I associate it with the 50s/60s.I think the variant Luisa is far less dated.

Much as I hate Louise, I like Louisa a whole lot better. To me, it has more of an old-fashioned feel than Louise, which is a plus, and the A sound at the end softens the WEEZ sound, which is what I hate about Louise. I command everyone at this minute who is considering using Louise to right here and now change it to Louisa. (But still, you could find something better than either.)
