Briar?
Do you prefer Briar for a boy or a girl?
I myself see it as a more feminine name.. thoughts on the name and middle names that pair well with it for a girl?

Feminine! Have you ever tried to prune briars? I'd rather name a child Barbed-Wire.

I prefer Briar for a girl. I love it! It's the name of a former history teacher of mine, whom I really admire. I'm still in contact with her, and she is a truly inspirational person.I always thought that Briar Ophelia or Ophelia Briar was a pretty combo. My teacher's name is Briar Dawn. Other combos:Briar Amelia
Briar Naomi
Briar Miriam
Briar Miranda
Briar Magdalena
Briar Lucinda
Briar Helena
Briar Gloria
Briar Genevieve
Briar Franziska
Briar Georgiana
Briar Emmeline
Briar Diana
Briar Cynthia
Briar Clementine
Briar Annora
Briar Marilyn

I think it's cute. Definitely for a girl. It reminds me of Sleeping Beauty, Briar Rose.

Briar seems to me to be a metaphysically very feminine concept, so I think it is more suitable on a feminine person. Briar on a man seems droll and vaguely nauseating to me - sort of like Blade or Rock on a woman. I don't like the name enough to make a lot of combos - it sounds growly in my accent. I guess it is kind of pretty in an English accent. With an English accent, maybe Briar Charlotte.
