I hate it. Sorry. It reminds me of a frumpy(although admittedly jolly and very nice) elderly neighbour ("Beatie") we had when I as growing up - and I always think "beat rice". Try as I might, I can't see the appeal of this name. I do like Beatrix a little better.
My daughter is Beatrice Elizabeth Anne. Beatrice for numerous relatives, most importantly my late mother and grandmother; Elizabeth for her step-grandmother; Anne for my other grandmother and me. Although all these are family names, we wouldn't have used them if we hadn't liked them; we didn't use Bertha, Molly, Nellie or Sarah, for instance!
She goes happily by Bea (pronounced Bee, not Bee-a) or Beatrice. Occasionally she gets Triskie, and she's had a couple of would-be boyfriends call her Honey, but they haven't lasted above five minutes. Her only grudge is the Dutch royal family - people often assume that her name is "really" Beatrix and have to be explained to. But in a country without historical links to the Netherlands, it shouldn't matter.

I like it. I wouldn't use it IRL but I enjoy pondering over it. I think the nn Bee is awfully cute =)
Beatrice is my middle name. My parents picked it because it sounded "international" (I have a Scottish father and a Flemish/German mother). I don't usually go by my middle name, but my grandfather used to call me Beattie.
I love this name! I have to admit that when I was a kid I was indifferent to the name, but now it's in my top 20 girls names although spelt Beatriz. I like the nicknames Trice, Trixie, and Bea.

It's one of my most disliked names. The first syllable makes me think of beets, as where I'm from it's pronounced BEET-ris, and beets are one of the few foods I really hate.
Even if it didn't make me think of beets, I'd still think it's butt ugly.

I like it and I like the meaning a lot too. I probably wouldn't use it in real life though, it's a bit too 'posh' for me.
I had to read this post twice before I realized which name you were talking about; that's how bland and forgettable Beatrice is to me. Not because I've heard it so much in real life, but because I've heard/read about it countless times on BtN. It's become stale and completely unappealing to me.
I think it's rather nice. Not one of my favorites, but still a good name. I prefer Beatrice to Beatrix, which is more harsh, I think.
Nicknames? Swedish Beatrices are usually called Bea, but other nns could be Tris, Trixie, Trissa, Beatie, Tricia...
Anna Beatrice

It's very prim and uptight, and seems to be one of those names that is popular on name boards but not in real life, at least not in the US.
Love it.
It has an old charm, but it is still identifiable. It was also the name of my great-great grandmother, so that helps. :)
Bea is my handsdown favorite nickname. Pronounced Bee-ah.
I also like Bee & Trix.
Beatrice I like to pair with more popular names at the moment, in case my daughter didn't really like the older feel of Beatrice (even though some of these names are older themselves).
Beatrice Emma or Beatrice Emily
Beatrice Sophia
Beatrice Amelia
Beatrice Lily
Beatrice Willow
Beatrice Camilla
Beatrice Penelope
Beatrice Anna
Beatrice Clara
Beatrice Aurora
Beatrice Isabelle
Beatrice Fiona
Beatrice Daisy
Beatrice Athena
