Asmara
WDYT of Asmara? Asmara is the capital of Eritrea, and as I love Africa, and African history is a passion of mine, I was thinking about this as a name. I think it sounds really pretty.Any combo suggestions?

I'm not too keen on this name, as in Malay, the language I hear everyday, 'asmara' means 'love, passion', and with a prefix means to, uh, do the reproduction thing. Not that you'll have to worry about that anyway, it's just my opinion. Lilypie Next Birthday Ticker

Oh wow...I love so many of your suggestions!
Asmara Faith* (its weird...I love the name Faith, but I don't think I could ever use it because I spend half my life speaking out against religion and what I call 'blind faith'...so if I ever used the name it would be possibly the most ironic thing ever)
Asmara Julia* (plus Julia is my aunt's name!)
Asmara Sadie (like this a lot, but the only problem is that I see Sadie as a nn, and I don't like nns as full names :()
Asmara Niamh* (LOVE this!)
Asmara Elodie*Thanks!

Asmara Helene is gorgeous! I also like Asmara Elise, but that is my first name, and I would feel weird naming a child after myself. Thanks

In case you don't know:According to African Placenames by Adrian Room, Asmara is derived from a word that meant "flowering wood" in the Tigrinya language.

Asmara CeliaI wanted to combine Asmara with another African name. But most of the few I know didn't flow well with it. (Johari, Marjani, Aina, Ife.) Good luck. I'd love to hear if you find a mn.
