We've had Ivo, how about...
Ira?
(I'm trying to decide if the IRA association is still too strong in the UK.)
What do you think of August and Ira for brothers?
Can you think of any good middle name ideas?
Much obliged!

Technically, I like Ira more than Ivo. Ira has most of the qualities I like in masculine names, being strong, dependable, and decidedly boyish without being butch. However, I like the sibset of August & Ivo better than August & Ira. The latter isn't bad and really could be great, but something about August & Ivo just...sparkles.
Can't say much about the IRA association as I'm in the States and don't know much about it.
Ira Léonce
Ira Morcant
Ira Nicol
Ira Leofric
Ira Florian
Ira Mendel
Ira Meriwether
Ira Korbinian
Ira Geraint
Ira Douglass
...Something about my naming seems off tonight.

Ira is a girls name to me only. :-/
:(
I love Ira! This is one of my favorite names. It's bespectacled and intelligent.
'Bespectacled and intelligent' - I like that!
I'm in the U.S. and the IRA comes to mind for me immediately. But overlooking that association, Ira for a little boy would be so, so cute.
August and Ira would be great for brothers. Ira seems a bit more feminine and some might assume Ira was a girl, like it were supposed to be Eira.
Ira Nathaniel
Ira Julius
Ira Finnegan
Ira Barnaby
Ira Cosmo
Ira Benjamin
Ira Forester
Ira Thomas
Ira Holden
Ira Crosby

Ira Barnaby, oh my goodness! Thank you!
Yep, it's a Russian diminutive of Irina!
I'm a big fan of Ira. It's a solid name with a neat history. In the US, though, I discovered that quite a few people see it as feminine. It bugs me.
I love August and Ira for brothers.
No good at combos, but I'd use Ira Paul, Ira Alexander or Ira Raphael.

I really love Ira. Ira Levin is one of my favourite authors, so it's got a lovely spooky association for me. I think August and Ira would be very smart as brothers! I find Ira classy and dramatic. I'm not in the UK, so I'm afraid I can't help with the IRA association (as in, I don't have to worry about that association at all). Here it brings Jewish people to mind, not the Irish.
Some combo ideas:
Ira Edgar
Ira Constantine
Ira Ludwig
Ira Ichabod
Ira Mordecai
Ira Alexander
Ira Hugo
Ira Victor
Ira Xavier
Ira Vincent

I can't get past the IRA associations. Plus, I think of the fact that ira means "wrath" in Latin.
Ah, well, thank you!
Thank you!
Ira is another good one. There's always just been something about it, though it's never been towards the top of my list. I think it goes quite well with August.
I know I used to have some good Ira combos, heck if I can remember any of them. :(
Ira... Bennett? Ira Corentin, Ira Delano, Ira Faridoon, Ira Graham, Ira Hadrian, Ira Mered... I'll stop, it really seems to go well with a lot! But I like it with something more offbeat and academic.
