It has been on my mind lately and it is really growing on me. It is a very elegant name and it has some cute nn options.Combo suggestions would also be wonderful :-)

I actually knew an Octavia. She was a 6' tall African American woman who was a friend of my mother's. She was a very loud, opinionated person, so I associate the name with someone who exhibits those qualities. :)ETA: I forgot, I knew another Octavia in middle school, only she went by Tavia. She was blonde, blue-eyed, and a little bossy. Another Octavia with a dominant personality!

like!Octavia is a nifty name. I'd love to know an Octavia! A blogger I follow just had a baby last month named Octavia Anne (joining sisters Penelope, Henrietta and Millicent!). A name like Octavia is lush and heavy, which is why I like it, but that means it needs a gentler middle.Octavia Norah
Octavia Rose
Octavia Blanche
Octavia Clare
Octavia Pearl
Octavia Louise
Octavia Helen
Octavia Sylvie
Octavia Lily
Octavia Lilac
Octavia Ruby
Octavia Lucy (I really like this one! It lightens Octavia tremendously)

I know one!I used to think it was kind of "meh," but it's grown on me. I can't think of any good combos or nicknames off the top of my head, though. :-(

I have always really like Octavia. Particularly with the nn Tavia. I think Octavia June would be a very pretty combo indeed.
