I adore Annie. It's my sister's name (US). In her case it's short for Elizabeth Ann. My parents knew they wanted to name her Annie but struggled to figure out a full name to go with it until she had already been around for several hours. My dad's suggestion? Annie Oakley Lastname.

I like Annie. I think is cute & intelligent. It will also age well. It is a bit too nicknamey for me (although I like Lucy & Maggie on their own).

I think Annelise is great and Arianne would work too. My MIL is Angelika so if I ever used Annie, it would be short for Angelica.

I LOVE Annie. It was my nickname in one class in high school and it kind of made me wish I went by that all the time. Annie so much more fun than Anna, it's spunky.
