[Opinions] Re: Alison, Charlotte, Alice or Claire?
Charlotte so far is only number 66 http://www.namenerds.com/uucn/pop/2010/2010xx01.htmlBut as people have pointed out in the past it is only getting more popular.
I've been thinking about it lately and even though every Alison I've known but one of them has been a mean bully I don't necessarily think of bullies when I hear the name. When I picture an Alison / Allison I think of someone with strawberry blonde hair or red hair or red-brown hair with freckles and brown or hazel or dark blue eyes. She would be naturally fair but since she is super sporty and tomboyish she is fairly tan during the summer. She would love to play volley ball and soccer and she would train in martial arts. She could be a bully or a spunky fireball who beats up bullies. She'd have a lot of friends, but is not necessarily popular. She would speak her opinions with out curbing her tongue. She would be passionate but because of her passion she'd have a strong temper. She'd have to learn to control her anger or else get into a lot of trouble.Alice is more feminine than Alison. It brings to mind someone who has a classic style that is feminine without being frilly. Alice also makes me think of someone who is a little more quiet and calm and often likes to read and write. Charlotte has a similar feel as Alice. Though I see Charlotte as being a tiny bit more frilly and a little more sporty.Claire reminds me of someone who is kind of like Alice and Alison. Feminine but not frilly and also a bit sporty and tomboyish.Right now I currently like all of these names. They all go well with Lara. Lara has a very similar feel to me as Charlotte. Slightly frilly but also someone who is a bit sporty. If I had to choose one of these names for my own child I'd choose Alice or Claire. I prefer Charlotte to any of them but it is becoming too popular for my personal tastes.

Some suggestion names.....I looked through the SSA name popularity database and looked up when Charlotte was most popular 1880 through now. Then I looked through all the names that were as popular or more popular than Charlotte during those decades and wrote down any of them that reminded me of Charlotte or some of the other names you like.
