Dorothea nn Thea is my favorite but Dot and Dottie are also cute nn's. Cordelia nn Corie or Cora is my second favorite. Also nice are Lucinda nn Lucy or Cindy, Cassandra nn Cass, Cassie, or Sandy, Allegra nn Allie, Petronella nn Nell and Nellie or Petra or Pennie, Susanna nn Susie and Suz, Margaret nn Maggie or Mags or Meg or Peggy or Pearl, Caroline nn Callie, and Frederica nn Freddie - Erica could also work for Frederica but I'm not a fan of it.Valentina nn Tina or Val, Angelina nn Angie or Lina, and Patricia nn Trish are okay/ fairly nice - not a fan of Pat or Patty unless for a boy named Patrick.I love many of the nn's for Elizabeth but the name is too popular and a bit bland. Anastasia I'm not a fan of but I like Ana or Sia and Stacy is fairly cute.

Got confused...I got confused by what you were asking and thought you mean't that we had to pick one and come up with a nn for it. Now I see that you mean't you wanted us to pick only one nn for each of these names:Margaret nn Pearl - too many good ones
Robert nn Robin
Caroline nn Callie
Frederica nn Freddie
Cassandra nn Cass and Cassie
Alexander nn Sandy - too many good ones
Sabina nn Bean/ Bine
Anastasia nn Sia
Michael nn Mikey
Susanna nn Susie and Suz
Geraldine nn Geri or Alda - not a fan of any nn's
Francis nn Frankie - not a fan of any nn's
Angelina nn Lina
Lucinda nn Lucy
Achilles nn Lee
Elizabeth nn Elsie or Lizzie - too many good ones
Morgana nn Mora and Morie
Petronella nn Nell and Nellie
Allegra nn Allie
Florian nn Ian
Patricia nn Trish

Margaret nn Pearl - I love nick-names that are not direct short forms of the formality - especially when the " 'distant' diminutive" is universally recognized.

hope the silly extras don't count as a second one. Margaret - Maggie
Robert - Robbie
Caroline - Carol
Frederica - Freda
Cassandra - Sandy
Alexander - ugghhh i really dislike Alex and Lex...and i really like Al so. that may look weird but. Al
Sabina - Bean
Anastasia - Stasia
Michael - Mikey
Susanna - Sanna
Geraldine - Gerri (Aldi if you hate her)
Francis - Fran. and you could argue it's a Slavic male name
Angelina - Angie
Lucinda - Lucy
Achilles - KILL....ACHE....omg no. Heelies. yes
Elizabeth - Liz (Lizard if you're being cutesy)
Morgana - MORGUE...jk. Morrie
Petronella - Nellie. Woah Nellie if you're close/ wanna bug her
Allegra - Allie, or Leggie if you're being cutesy
Florian - ahhhhhhh i've been wondering this, especially since i've really loved it lately...Lori maybe.
Patricia - Pat. which is super cute and i'd love it, if not for a personal association grrrrr
Constantine - Constantly Constipated Conman...jk Connie

You made me realize that Alder could also work for Geraldine but I always have felt like the name Alder works better for a boy. Alda could probably work as a nn.Ian also works for Florian but I do like Lorie.

Lol, well I honestly couldn't think of anything but Frank, which I really hate, and Fran and Francie, which I find way too feminine, Fran Tarkenton notwithstanding. I bet he, like Rosey Grier, developed the muscles for football by defending his name.

i only know Fran as a woman's name because of Fran Drescher. i've heard of Fran as a Slavic masculine name a few years ago , and warmed up to it, so i'm easily able to see it as masculine (didn't know Tarkenton til now). though i've noticed that i'm not as familiar with American naming trends as many others on here.

Teeny is so funny for a name like Constantine...i bet the emperor would've been called that if they spoke English. and Cece for Cordelia is creative! i like Cece but not Cecelia, so that's a good alternative. Tansy is also clever...and CISCO

I don't like far fetched nicknames except for when they are very well established classics, e.g. Catherine nn Kitty. I also usually prefer the full form.I would choose:Margaret - I like Meg, it has a classic and old fashioned feel to it thanks to 'Little Women'.
Robert - this is difficult. I guess Rob.
Caroline - Carrie, I really can't stand Caro.
Frederica - Freddie? I don't really see many other options except for Fred, Rica or Rikki :(
Cassandra - Cassie, I was never a huge fan of Sandra. I do like Sandy as a nature name but Cassandra nn Sandy seems odd kind of like Aurora nn Rory. The name and nickname would be too different in style.
Alexander - Alec, I really can't stand Alex at all.
Sabina - this is hard. Sabi, maybe?
Anastasia - ohhhh this is one of my all time favorites and I dislike it so much when it gets shortened. It's so gorgeous in its full form. I'm going with Annie. Anya would be fine too but it's a Russian nickname for Anna so it makes less sense to me. Annie is a name I kind of like but I would really really prefer to leave this in its full form. The worst I think is Stacy which I find okay on its own but not as a nickname for Anastasia because the clash in styles is just so huge.

I was reading Francis as the masculine name and Frances as the femenine.
