in reply to a message by Emma
IRISH: I like / love --> Sean, Brian, Caitlin.Suggestions --> Cormac, Malachy, Desmond, Eamonn ("AY-mun"), Rory, Dermot / Diarmuid, Seamus ("SHAY-mus"), Sinead, Cathleen, Deirdre, Aisling ("ASH-ling"), Mairead, Finola, Maeve, Eileen, Maureen, Aoife ("EE-fa"), Brigid. SCOTTISH: I like / love --> Scott, Alan, Ian, James (isn't this English?), Kristen (Scandinavian?).Suggestions --> Malcolm, Kenneth, Angus, Gavin, Lachlan, Alistair, Callum, Duncan, Keith, Torquil, Ailsa, Fiona, Elspeth, Catriona ("ca-TREE-uh-na"), Isla ("EYE-la"), Jean, Alison, Effie, Eilidh ("EYE-lee").ENGLISH:I like / love --> Alexander, Elizabeth (Elisabeth is French and German), Hope, Alexandra, Ella, Emily.Suggestions --> Arabella, Caroline, Alice, Victoria, Evelyn, Jane, Celia, Miranda, Audrey, Nell, Mary / Mae, Rose, Lucy, Katherine, Verity, Grace, Nicola ("NIC-uh-la"), Diana, Isobel, Ada, Margaret, Ivy, Matilda, Candace, Louisa. I know technically Victoria is ancient Roman and there are other origins to these names. But I'm using them in the loosest form of "English" names, i.e., names commonly used in English or associated with England. I assume that's how your are grouped too. :-)
