Dolores
Dolores was my grandmother's name. She was a wonderful woman. She was active in her church and community. She loved her family and children in general. I'm not especially fond of the name, but have considered giving it to a daughter to honor her memory. I'm not sure if it should be a fn or mn and have no idea what would flow well with it. Any suggestions?

It's my grandmother's name too.
She threatened my mom's life if she ever named a daughter Delores. She hated her name. The name itself is okay, but on an old lady. I would never use it on a little girl.I would use it as a mn if you must.

I don't like it because 1) I hate or/er/ir/ar sounds in names and 2) Dolores means "pain" in Spanish. Bad association.

yeah...the meaning is the problem I have with it.

If you don't like it, but want to honour her memory, I'd put it in mn spot. That way, she'd never have to go by it but the meaning is still there.Apologies for any repeats:Rose Dolores
Elena Dolores
Miranda Dolores
Miriam Dolores
Katherine Dolores
Helena Dolores
Eve Dolores
Layla Dolores
Cassandra Dolores
Zoe Dolores
Jane Dolores
Freya Dolores
Maya DoloresJust play around with your favourites, and hopefully you'll find something that fits nicely with your Dolores :)

I love Elena and Isabella! They are on my favorite names list, but I hadn't considered them with Dolores before. Makes sense though. :)
