Darcy?
I'm reading Pride and Prejudice right now, and I'm totally in love with the name Darcy. Opinions? Do you prefer it for a boy or a girl? I'm torn. I see how masculine it is on Fitzwilliam Darcy, but the only Darcy I know is a girl, and I think it's sweet on a girl, too. Here's it's popularity info:
http://www.behindthename.com/top/search.php?extra=p&terms=darcy&submit=GoI would think it would be popular - it's unisex, a surname, and ends in a -y - but surprisingly, it's not very popular in the US at all. So, opinions? Suggestions? I'm having a hard time making combos for female Darcys. I feel like the MN is either too feminine and the names clash, or the MN isn't feminine enough, resulting in an overall masculine feel. KWIM? Here are some combos for you to peruse:Darcy William (too P&P?)
Darcy Jacob
Darcy Charles
Darcy Sebastian
Darcy Nikolai
Darcy Alexis
Darcy Morgan
Darcy Julian
Darcy Isaiah
Darcy AlexanderOliver Darcy
Dagmar Darcy
Benjamin Darcy
Nicholas Darcy
Peter Darcy
James Darcy
Ethan Darcy
Peregrine Darcy
Maddox DarcyDarcy Delilah
Darcy Katherine
Darcy Fleur / Fleurentine
Darcy Amelia
Darcy Clio
Darcy Finola
Darcy Claire
Darcy Kendall
Darcy Elizabeth (way too P&P?)
Darcy Linnea

Samara Darcy (sah-MAIR-ah, not sah-MAHR-ah)
Olivia Darcy
Jessamine Darcy
Ava Darcy

It's ok for either, but I prefer it on a girl... maybe because I've known more girls than guys with that name, but I think sound-wise, it suits girls more... Much like Stacey can be used for either, but suits girls better.Darcy William (too P&P?)- sounds good
Darcy Jacob - not a fan of Jacob
Darcy Charles- I like the names on their own, but not together
Darcy Sebastian- ok
Darcy Nikolai- ok
Darcy Alexis- Alexis on a boy?... not into it... with a unisex first name and female popularity of Alexis, people will see the name and assume girl
Darcy Morgan- so-so... for the most part, to avoid potential bureaucratic confusion double unisex names should be saved for miscarried (or aborted if the situation is coming back to bother them and they need to go through the grieving process as one would for a miscarriage) babies people don't know the gender of so they can give a name to the child they've lost and work through the grief process.
Darcy Julian- Julian's a little too fem to go with this one... I know it's a boys' name, but similarity to girls' name (with the fact some might use the same spelling for a girl and pronounce it Julie-anne) makes it a little too close... though moderately close if it's completely clear may still bee ok for some names.
Darcy Isaiah- I like the names on their own, but not together
Darcy Alexander- so-so

I'm with you, I like Darcy for both sexes. However, it sounds aristocratic on a boy but nicely universal on a girl. Love these:Darcy Nikolai (Darcy Nicholas would also be great)
Darcy AlexanderNicholas Darcy
Peter DarcyDarcy Katherine
Darcy Amelia Madeleine Darcy
Jessamine Darcy ** gorgeous!

I LOVE Darcy on a boy, hate it on a girl...Darcy is my second most favorite name for a boy, it ties with Jasper for number one actually. My favorite Darcy combos are Darcy Edward and Darcy Edmund.
Out of your choices I like these best:
Darcy William
Darcy Jacob
Darcy Charles
Darcy Alexander
Oliver Darcy
Benjamin Darcy
Nicholas Darcy
Peter Darcy
James Darcy
Peregrine DarcyI don't like any of the girl combos, sorry. I just feel it's WAY to masculine a name to put on a girl. I've never met a girl named Darcy, but I've known three male Darcys, one of whom was sooooo sexy!

I have Darcy on my name list and I posted about it a while ago and didn't get any replies back. I prefer it on a boy. If I were to use it it would definitely be on a boy not a girl. I've only met one girl named this. From your combos I like:
Darcy Nikolai
Darcy Alexis
Darcy Isaiah
Darcy Alexander - this sounds good, but I don't like Alexander Oliver Darcy
Benjamin Darcy
Ethan Darcy Darcy Claire
Darcy Kendall - I like both of these names for a boy.
Darcy Elizabeth - I don't think it's too P&P. I doubt hardly anyone would even realize the relation.Madeleine Darcy
Ava Darcy
Julia Darcy

Darcy Fleur / Fleurentine - spunky!
