I love my name. I used to think it was old ladyish, but now I see it as more classic and strong. I also like that it's not overly popular for my age group, I've never met a Joan or Joanie my age. The only people I know are my Granny and my Goddaughter. My MN is Roseann, my Granny's is Adell, and my Goddaughter's is Kathren Nicole.I like:

My mom's mn is Joan, so I kind of have a soft spot for it, even though I'm not exactly fond of the name itself.Joan Abigail
Joan Isabel
Joan Leonora - I'd prefer Joan Leona or Liora
Joan Octavia
Joan Susanna - Joan Susan sounds better in my ears

I enjoy Joan. It is the name of my cousin's middle child and she is Joan Elizabeth nn Joanie. She'll be five this year and is such a little dynamo- such a gorgeous kid which gives me a great association with the name. I think Joan Arabella is a bit of fun :-)

It's always been doubled sided for me. On one hand there's Joan of Arc and my sister choice Joan as her confirmation name, on the other hand I think of Joan Rivers and all of that plastic surgery.
