Josephine
I love it, but I don't like many of the nicknames that go with it. What do you think of the name Josephine? What middle names go with it? I like Josephine Diane.

I love Josephine! It helps that I had early positive associations in my life (preschool teacher, and the lady who cut my hair when I was a kid). I feel like Jo is the go-to nickname, though I prefer Josie. For middle names, I would pair Josephine with something that began with a vowel - like Josephine Eloise, or Josephine Odette.

Not a fan. Rhythmically, it sounds heavy and slow; I don't enjoy the nns either; and I really like Joseph for a boy, so Josephine would never get a look-in.

It will forever be both old lady and clunky to me. But Josie isn't too bad.

I think of Jo from Little Women and Joey Potter from Dawson's Creek. Both great namesakes. I also think of Napoleon's wife. I like it quite a bit.

.. and all that JazzIt reminds me of Josephine Baker. Famous dancer, civil rights activist and French Resistance agent. Quite the resume :) I like the name because of her.Strong, yet feminine. And a lot of nicknames to choose from.. Joey, Jojo, Effie, Fifi, Posy, Sephie..Diane is not my style but it works well as middle name for Josephine.
