In 1994, the WMO decided to retire the names Bret, Crystal, Don, Harvey, Irma, Jorge, Martha, Pierre, Ruth, Sean, Alpha, Beta, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta, Theta, Iota, Mu, and Xi. Due to Greek rules, they are gonna be used later on. They were replaced with Brian, Colette, Dustin, Harold, Idalia, James, Marcela, Percy, Rochelle, and Shane for the 1999 season, respectively.
