[Opinions] Jason and Justin
I know most of you live in countries where Jason and Justin are very common and a bit dated, but I've never met one in real life and I love both names (I'd definitely use one if I could). So, disregarding how common they are, what do you think about them? And if you had to use them as first names, what middle names would you use with them?

Yeah, they are common and dated, but I think Jason isn't in the hole as much as Justin. I like Jason more ever since knowing a boy (he's maybe 10?) by that name. It made it feel more fresh and usable these days. It also doesn't have the troublemaker-teenager vibe like I get from Justin. Some days I'd say I like Jason.I know a young Justin, too, but it hasn't recovered a positive association for me. I've never found it an appealing sound, either, although I don't think it's as wimpy as Dustin. Not sure what I'd pair them with. Maybe something like...
Jason Elliot
Jason Francis
Jason MalachyI'm going to try something with Justin
Justin Ambrosius
Justin Aquinas
Justin Fidelis
Justin Silvanus
Justin Valentine
Yeah, I actually kind of like those! Making the most of its "virtue."

I'm not a fan if either - I'm sure it's mainly because of where I live they're pretty much everywhere. That said, going by sound alone, I prefer Justin. Justin James or any other mn starting with j like Justin Jasper would be cool:)

I love them both! I would use Jason if it weren't the name of my best friend's older brother (who I see all the time). I'm thinking about using Justin! I also like Justus. I love the meanings of both of them. I think their gorgeous meanings trump how common they are. Besides, Jason and Justin are rare gems compared to ubiquitous names such as James, William, Michael, Alexander, etc. Jason immediately brings to mind the story of the Golden Fleece, and Justin brings to mind both the very good-looking Justin Trudeau and the brave, heroic rat from "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH". He's one of my favourite literary characters, so... to me, it really is a wonderful association. As for combos, hmmmmm...Jason Theodore

I prefer Justin to Jason.
I just plain wouldn't use Jason... so I guess I'll look at what might sound ok w/ Justin.
I personally would use a Jpns. name with Justin, but since that's prob'ly not quite what you're looking for, I'll give you some other options (though I think it would sound nice w/ Akira if you want at least 1 Jpns. example):Levi
Pascal
Samuel (preferably w/ Span. prn.)
Mateo
Raphael
Alexander
Gabriel
Jose
Xavier
Israel
Ezekiel
Isaiah
Malachi
Charles
Blake
Bryce
Elijah
Fritz
Maxwell
Oliver
Abraham

I grew up with twins named Jason and Justin. They were handsome and grew up to be college grads and all around good men. I think that's what I will always think of when I hear them together.Individually though, I'm luke warm about them.

I don't like Justin at all. I used too not like Jason, but the mythological connection makes it better for me. I definitely prefer Iason though. Both Justin and Jason are primarily mean jock-type teenagers to me :P

If I pretend I've hardly seen them and they were unusual still ... I'd say Jason seems heroic - dynamic, upbeat, sympathetic character. Justin is also heroic, and seems crisply butch at best, shrewd and weaselly at worst. But these impressions might be subliminally influenced by people I've known with those names. I can't remember. I think I have a relative named Justin. I knew a guy named Justin Cates (surname) when I was a kid, and it took me about 3 years to figure out why I thought it sounded so catchy. haha. And I've known a bazillion Jasons. All the Jasons I've known were either pretty-faced, or had sweeter than usual dispositions.I don't know about middle names - I would probably not get too eccentric though, since I think that with a name like Jason, you could create comedy pretty easily. Jason Ambrose or Jason Sage, for example, would be stupid IMHO. Something classic like Alexander would work better. That'd work with Justin too.

I think they're boring. I imagine a really boring guy when I hear those names. They are super common here. Jason is 70s dated and Justin is 80s dated.Oh and Jason really makes me think of Friday the 13th (movie). Whenever I hear it I hear that scary woman saying "Jaaaaason, my sweet little Jaaaaaaason". Creepy. Justin makes me think of Justin Timberlake even though I've met lots. Jason also reminds me of Jason Priestley. They have a teenage star theme to them that I dislike. No offense, use them if you like them!
