Bizzy (nn for Beatrice or Elizabeth)
Libby (nn for Elizabeth)
Sukie (nn for Susan or Susannah)
Tessie (nn for Theresa)
Birdie (nn for Beatrice, Elizabeth, Bridget, or Bertha)
Flossie (nn for Florence)
Tibby (nn for Tabitha)
Goldie (it doesn't say what this would actually be a nickname for. Maybe Golda?)

I like/can tolerate:

Tessie - much prefer Tessa or even Tess though

I dislike Effie, Hattie, Dovie & Birdie. I don't think those should be given to a child as nicknames, and definitely not as stand alone first names!
If I had to use one for a daughter, today it would be Billie, nn for Sibyl (not Wilhelmina!).

Years ago, I knew a Birdie--as a "pet" for Gertrude; and no one ever caller her Gertrude. Interestingly - I am still toying with the idea of adding Elizabeth as an additional middle name, but I would never allow myself to be called Libby: and though I would not like Buffy either--Buffy still has a unique nature to it which I might more easily accept before Libby.

Billie can also be a short version of Belinda.
Most of the list are toe-curlingly awful. And the steady flow of -y and -ie endings is cheapskate sentimental.
Exceptions would be Polly (family nn for Mary which I'd use as a full name) and, as I say, Billie if short for Belinda, which I like but feel hesitant about for some reason.
Worst of the worst: Bizzy, Birdie, Dovie (!) and Lottie.

I love almost all of these longer names, and I love almost all of the nicknames. AS NICKNAMES.

I personally think most of these would be pretty childish as stand-alone names, but especially Bizzy, Birdie, Flossie, and Dillie. As nicknames, I do really like Libby, Essie, Hattie (but not Harriet, so I think it could stand on its own and be ok), and Lottie. I would probably go with Elizabeth "Libby" if I had to use one of these :)

I love Libby and if I had a daughter right now she would be Willemina "Billie". Georgie and Hattie have both been on my list at times.
Those 4, Winnie, and Lottie make okay first names, but all are better as nicknames. Tibby, Lettie, Effie, and Essie are borderline. Polly is scarcely a nickname anymore.

Second choice Mellie (but a distant second, due to the likely mistake for Millie, which I don't like). I like Mellie for Melanie or Mellisant.

I was on a thread and the usual "stripper name", "it's kinda trashy", "dog name" comments, then: "I've never liked it since my friend's pet rabbit, Trixie, tried to eat her own babies". Seriously? Cannot get a break with this one. But I still love it, in full and as a nn for Beatrix.
