WDYTO Journey
While looking for virtue/word names I though of Journey for a girl. What do you think? Would it make a good name?
Have you heard/seen it used before? Is it better for a boy or girl?
What middle name? What about Journey Elizabeth Templeton?

I can only think of the rock band. It's not a given name, to me, for either a girl or boy.

I think it's better for a girl, as are nearly all virtue names. It's attractive, and because it has quite a typical name-y sound, I can separate it from the word when I want to. (Like Grace - I don't think of the noun every time I hear that name, which is probably a good thing.)Elizabeth is a bit of a generic middle name. I think Journey needs something classic but more unusual. Something like Journey Mariana would be gorgeous. Even Journey Katherine, which is that bit more interesting than Elizabeth._____________________________________________________________________Elinor"Yeehaw!" is not a foreign policy!

Its ok, I have seen it used before, but spelled Jurni. I like it for a girl. Journey Elizabeth is nice.

Journey is a boys name to me because I read and seen a show where the little boys name was Journey.

I know a woman (mid-twenties) named Journey. She's a little embarrassed to have been named for the band, but other than that she likes it. I do too, I'd have to say.

It seems a bit masculine to me, though I don't care for it for either gender. It's too much a word for me, as opposed to other word names (like Grace and Hope). I also think of the band, which doesn't bring to mind a little girl. :bETA: I just remembered the only "Journey" I've heard of was an actress and character named Jurnee (the actress is Jurnee Smollett) on "Cosby", the show Bill Cosby had after the "Cosby Show" in the 90s. I greatly dislike the Jurnee spelling, though. Blech.

Speaking of Jurnee....I looked up Jurnee Smollett on imdb.com. She was also "Denise" on Full House. I think I remember her, maybe a friend of Stephanie's. Anyway, here's a scary sibset for all of us to revel in. Jurnee has 5 siblings named Jazz, Jocqui, Jake, Jojo, and Jussie. *gags*

It's kind of sad to see that Jurnee got the best name....*pro-life*

Well, you're one of the firsts. Someone on here once called it a hooker name. *cries you a river* I've been annoyed my most people's comments since.
Thanks for being nice. We call her Essie for short.-Seda*

It's too much of a word name for me. I like Patience, Grace (only as a middle name), and Mercedes (I classify this name as a virtue name). I'm kind of warming up to Remembrance. If I had to choose a gender, then I'd say for a girl. When I've read books or seen lists of virtue names, I've seen it more commonly on a girl, and it just feels more feminine to me. I like Elizabeth, and I think Elizabeth Journey flows better.Ciarda has a list of virtue names, if you're interested.

I can never decide if I really like Remembrance or not.I think I'm learning to love it though.Remembrance Sally would be a nice way to honor my g-ma.What do you think?

If it's honoring, then I'm for it. If you don't mind me asking, how is it honoring your Grandma? It'd be interesting if Sally was her name, and you're using Remembrance in front of it.

Maybe it should be Remembering Sally? LOL!Yes, Sally was her first name. I would like to honor her but am not found of her fn! I know it's a nn for Sarah and that Sara, Sadie and Sarena are all forms but I'm not very found of these either! So I'd propably use her middle name Stone as a middle name for one of my kids, propably more for a boy. *shrug* :)WDYT? Any suggestions? Forms of Sarah/Sally I should consider?
vote up1
Remembering Sally may be *too* much. :)I'd say use Sally as the middle name, but if you're not that fond of it, then any S name will do. My theory is that if it honors to you, then that's all that matters. Also, if Stone is - I'm assuming - a family surname, since it was her middle name, then I see no problem with it on a girl, as a middle name. It's the only time I'm OK with surnames as middle names for girl - if it's a family surname.Just for the heck of it, these are the S names I like:
Samantha
Sandra
Sondra
Sarah
Scarlett
Shawna
Sophia
Stella
Stephanie
Susan
Susannah
Sylvia

Thanks!
I like Samantha, Sophia, Stella, Susannah and strangely enough Sylvia as well. I also like Sophie and Summer and Sorcha and the little known Simcha though I don't think I'd use it, but it sounds cool! :)
