Rose
Is Rose a boring name? I am really liking it today. Do you like Rose, or do you prefer a longer Rose-variety - Rosemary, Rosalie, etc?Combos? I like Rose Winifred at the moment, it seems sweetly nostalgic. thanks!

It's boring as a mn because it's such a filler, but as a fn, it's divine. I like Rose, Rosie, Rosemary, Rosalie and Rosalyn, but just Rose or Rosemary would be my faves. It would depend on the mn I wanted to use and which version went best with the ln, which name I'd use.

I think it's a beautiful name, and not at all boring.
I know a Maria-Rose (age20), she's mostly called Rosie.
Rosalie is a pretty name, however, I've only known one person so named, and she's overbearing and bossy. So that kind of colours the name for me.
Rosemary, very nice.

Rose Winifred is beautiful! I don't think Rose is boring, unless it's in the middle name spot. As a first name, it's lovely. I like Rosalie and Rosemary, but I like simply Rose as well.

Rose Winifred is adorable, and Rose isn't at all boring as just Rose. But Anneza is right: with just-Rose there's the inevitability of Rosie, which I'm not keen on - there's something a bit barmaidish and... wenchy about it. Rosa is great though, and Rosemary is sweet.

I love Rose (only this form) and only as a first name. It's overused as a middle name, but I can't remember when I met a Rose in real life.

Rose Winifred is nice. I can't resist the name Rose. It's so quirky. I like Rosemary and Rose equally.

I love that you find the name Rose quirky! "Quirky" is not an adjective I would normally think of for something like Rose. That is awesome. There is rather something quirky about it, isn't there.

I know, right? I seem to get past its popularity and focus on how cute (not cutesy -- cute in a good way) the name is.

I kind of like it for a first name actually, although I do like Rosetta and Rosemary more.

I love Rose!I think it's a timeless classic and is very much underused these days. I don't mind long names for it, but I think it works well either way. I'm considering Rose for a daughter.

I like Rose, but I prefer it as a nn for Rosalie, Rosaline, Rosamund or Rosemary.

I don't think it's boring. I think it's quite sweet and refreshing as a first name. It's one of a few names that makes me think of a dark brown piano. I like those names.Rose Winifred is very nice. My favorite combo is Rose Mairead. This is a Rose combos list I came up with once:Rose Bethan
Rose Bianca
Rose Clémence
Rose Emmeline
Rose Harriet
Rose Keturah
Rose Mairéad
Rose Marguerite
Rose Maureen
Rose Mefin
Rose Olivette
Rose Shoshannah
Rose Virginia
Rose Winifred - oh look, we thought alike!

I like Rosalie or Rosalia best. Rosemary's pretty too. I really don't like Rose or Rosa on its own, I find it dowdy, but I'm aware I'm in a minority from this point of view.

I love Rose, it's very classic, timeless, feminine and sweet... BUT imho, it always just seems a little incomplete for a first name...So - for a fn, i'd use either Rosalind, or Rosalie with nn Rose. Rose on it's own is fine for a mn though...

I prefer longer varieties! If you are Rosemary, Rosamond etc you can call yourself Rose should you wish; but if you are Rose, all that's left is Rosie.

I never liked Rose for whatever reason, yet I love Rosa, Roza, Rosalia, Rosalie, and Rozalija. I wish I had a good reason for disliking Rose, but I can't seem to put my finger on it.

I like it for a middle name. I love Rosemary. Rosalie is okay. Winifred Rose sounds better to my ears, but Rose Winifred is a nice combo. I also like to spell Winifred with two Ns.

Not boring at all! Absolutely GORGEOUS! I prefer Rose on it's own, but I have a Rosemary. Such a pretty name! Rose Winifred is cute! I have Rose Georgiana as a combo I love.

I really LOVE Rose! Rose Winifred is cute. I also like Rosalind/Rosalyn and Rosa. Rose is my absolute favourite though. :)

I love Rose. obvi. I love almost all the long versions too, Rosemary, Rosalie, Rosalind, Rosamund, Rosa. But none of those are just Rose.I'm SUPER picky about combos. Rose Winifred is nice but always these combos seem backwarrds to me, something about how Rose looks just feels uncomfortable when it's not after a name, how much nicer is Winifred Rose, you know? I think for this reason I like to put unreasonable things in the MN so I'm not tempted to turn it around and prefer it.Rose Resplendence is my fave combo I believe. Argh it doesn't feel comfortable still, let's see.Rose Barbara?
Rose Amy?
Rose Alfreda?
Rose Clytemnestra?
Rose, what. I don't know. Rose Riddle. Rose Propose. Rose Knows. Rose Delightful. Rosered. Rosegarden. Rose Promise. Rose Pleasant. Rose Levity. Rose Mindfulness. Rose Concertina. Rose Firebird. Rose Firefly. Rose Lourdes. Rose Jennifer. Rose What-I'm-Telling-You-Is. Rose Tothechallenge. lol
okay this is silly
Rose Edelweiss, that is not such a good idea really
Rose Fairy-Tale Pictures
Rose Without Words
Rose Microcosm
Rose Wilhelmina
Rose Cosimayeeeah I dunno, even completely disregarding the rules of sense and structure doesn't please me aesthetically half the time.

I love Rose Promise and Rose Cosima.Especially Rose Promise.

When I first glanced at that I thought Rose Promise said "Rose Primrose" and I was like whaaaaaa? Ha!

Yes, I know just what you mean about wanting to switch things around, and putting things you wouldn't want to see in front in the middle. I agree that, all things being equal, Winifred is more interesting than Rose. Rose Jennifer is so nice! My switcheroo Rose combos might look something like:Rose Angelica
Rose Constance
Rose Liselotte
Rose Christina
Rose Valentine
Rose Dulcie
Rose Eleanora
Rose Norah
Rose Eugenie
Rose Gaia
Rose Lavinia
Rose Maribel
Rose Ouida
Rose Roxanne
Rose Estelle
Rose VirginiaThose are all names I like ok but I'm like "meh" when I try to put them out front.

No, it's not boring. I wouldn't use it for my own child, but I have grown to like it.

love love love ♥My main issue with it is that my other great girls name love happens to be Ruby and I can't bring myself to put them together even in hypothetical sibsets. Some days it comes close to usurping Ruby's place but its not quite there yet. Its probably my second favourite name at the moment though.I don't find it boring at all- its one of those names where its simplicity makes it beautiful IMO. I put it in the same category as Mae or Alice. I prefer Rose to the longer Rose- names although I do like quite a lot of them, especially Rosalie, Rosamond and Rosemary.Rose Winifred is darling. My favourite Rose combos are:
Rose Amelie Mireille
Rose Lucinda Maeve
Rose Brigitte
Rose Eleanor
Rose Jamesina
Rose Amedea Leonie

Wow similarities...My current Rose combo is Rose Amelie Matilda. That is pretty funny that your combo and mine are so similar.

LOVE Rose Eleanor, that's a really beautiful combo.

I don't think Rose is boring. I would much prefer to see it as a first name instead of a middle name. Rosamund is my current favorite, followed closely by Rosaline.

I've never met anyone with the first name Rose - only as an mn. I'd love to see it, very refreshing! I think I like simply Rose, or Rosa, but I love Rosamund.

I prefer other floral names, much better. I much prefer longer versions of Rose, such as Rosemary and Primrose. Rose, is just so boring, dull and a filler.
