My SO really loves Dean. Previously, I hated it and agreed if it was a boy to put it as a mn.

Now I don't find it as hideous as I used to and don't mind it as a fn. So, what do you think? Leave it as a mn or give him what he wants and put it as a fn? I'm keeping in mind that if he gets to pick the fn this time, if we ever have another, I get complete control over the name *evil laugh*!

Also, what mn's would you pair it with?

Dean really isn't that bad at all, well I don't think it is anyway! Like you said, if you can get your SO to agree that you get naming rights on the next child, then I'd go with it! ;)

I probably never would've liked Dean if it wasnt for Gilmore Girls. :o)

If I ever used it, I imagine I'd stick it in the mn spot because I like having a fn with more than just one syllable. Easier to call with fury when the kids in trouble...easier to shorten for cute nicknames... I don't know, just my preference.

Dean's ok. I'm kinda neutral on it. Neither a love nor a hate. Has the good point that it's not excessively overused.

You can decide together whether it works better as a fn or mn w/ whatever you decide to put it w/. Here are some possibilities:
