I like the name a lot. I'm not keen on it being used on girls, but to each their own.
Augustus and Augustin are cool, but the feminine/other variants are not my thing.

LOVE August for a boy, but not a fan of the others.

I like the name August. I also like Augusta and Augustus, but those are more posh and mature so they're not as usable as August and I wouldn't really like them IRL on a kid or regular person. They're names for a rich aunt or uncle in a novel. I would avoid Augustine because of associations but the name sounds cool on its own.August Cornelio

It’s a nice name. I find it better than Augustus or Gus. I find Augustus to be ugly and snooty and Gus to be too old sounding. August is fresh in its own way, and it’s a month name. Augusta and Augustine are just… stuck up. I don’t think August should have feminine forms because it’s just a very masculine sound to me.

Personally, I think it’s a nice name. Would I use it? Maybe, for someone born in August. It sounds very nice!

I named my son August Everett. I don’t care for Augustus, but that’s just my opinion (we all know what they say about opinions). Auggie is turning a year old on august 31, although he was supposed to be born in september, he just had to claim the month of August for his own. I love saying his name, people compliment us on the name often. I think his name will be well received. The name, August, makes me think of an intelligent, warm, and empathic personality. He could be the life of the party as an extravert or someone who prefers a small and close group of friends like his mom— an introvert, he could be a creative writer, or more analytical. I can see him successful, a pioneer in his field of interest. I can see him being an entrepreneur like me and his dad. The name perfectly suits my mischievous redheaded sweetheart. I can’t wait to see him and his twin sister Evelyn grow. We’d love to have a third child, we’re trying now! Our third will be Marigold (Goldie) or Julian. Other names on our list were: Josette, Grant, Rosalind, Nathaniel, and Claire. I wish you all the best with your little August! I think it’s a fabulous name for either a boy or a girl. If you love it, don’t doubt yourself— go for it!

August is a big no for me. I view it as exclusively male, of course, but think it's kind of dumb as a name. (I don't care for months as names as a rule.)Perhaps my next response will be incongruous with the above statement, but still:I like Augustine and Augustus quite a lot (for boys alone).I really like Augusta.

We were just talking about this name as a family. It came up that it would be weird to name a child this that wasn't born in August. I love it, some of my other family members thought it was cute too, but my hubby doesn't like it. The other older variations of the name sound pretty hideous to me. August is a name that would be great for a girl or boy in my opinion, and pairs well with just about any single-syllable middle name. Two syllable middle names would have to have the right cadence, preferably with emphasis on the second syllable to sound harmonious. Three syllable middle names would sound great as well. For example,
