The Devereux Family
Emrys and Lilias' restaurant suffered a decline in customers and was nearly forced to close in 2002, but after being featured on TV by a celebrity chef the business began booming again, bringing in a huge amount of tourism to Betwys-y-Coed. Their success was so great that they began looking into opening a second location, but this dream never came to fruition following Lilias' sudden and unexpected death in 2008. Emrys fell into a great depression and decided to sell the restaurant much to his son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren's sadness as they had many fond memories of the place. It was just as well however, as Martyn was offered a high-paying job in the Environmental Protection Agency, which required him to relocate to Oxford in 2011. Worried about leaving his father behind, Martyn convinced his father to move with them and the family stuck close together. Martyn and Bronwen had an unexpected daughter in 2011, with neither knowing she was pregnant until the birth, they call her their "little miracle" after believing that they couldn't have any more children after Bethan-Rose's birth. Having spent a lot of his younger years working in the kitchen of his grandpa's restaurant, Celyn pursued culinary school and found work in a local chain restaurant where he met Blair and Barnaby Fischer, who were working as waiters whilst studying at the University of Oxford. Through them, he met his DGf, and they have been dating for two years. William joined a band having found a passion for drums during his teenage years, and they are preparing for their first small UK tour after gaining a rather impressive following since forming three years ago. Bethan-Rose is close to finishing sixth form (last years of high school) and is nervously waiting to find out if she has been accepted into the University of Bath's Medicine program.

Alistair eventually retired from his position at the University of Oxford, but still regularly provides guest lectures across the country, whilst Guinevere found success with her best selling murder mystery series under the name GM Caudwell. The two continued to try and reach out to their eldest daughter Heather to make amends, especially after Alistair was diagnosed with lung cancer. Heather and Shea remain in Bristol distant from her family and refuse to make contact. Lila worked and studied hard to become an architect, and met her DH who was the son of one of the first clients she worked with. After 4 years together, they married and had two daughters. Against her mother's wishes, Lila chose to reach out to her grandparents so that they could meet their great-grandchildren in the hopes that it would close the distance between her mother and grandparents, but there are still tensions. Heather's son Duncan recently moved to Cardiff where he studies Biology at University, and there he met his DBf, though he hasn't come out to his parents yet and they just believe that they are good friends. Phoebe has given up on reaching out to Heather, though she deeply misses her sister and struggled with depression, which has caused some strain on her relationship with Jamie. In 2001 they welcomed a daughter, but Phoebe fell into postpartum depression and struggled with motherhood. Jamie began an affair with a co-worker which was inadvertently discovered by his sons who attended the same school, and Phoebe swiftly filed for divorce. Her parents rallied to help her care for the new baby and life as a single mother, though she continued to struggle with depression. Her hope in reconnecting with her sister was reignited when she was contacted by Lila, and the two formed a close bond. Blair and Barnaby have never forgiven their father for the pain he caused their mother, and while Blair managed to deal with the emotional trauma rather well Barnaby became rebellious and started having trouble at school. By the time they finished school, Blair was accepted into the University of Oxford to study History, but Barnaby's grades weren't good enough and he decided to repeat the last year of school to try and improve his grades, regretting his past behaviour. The second time around he secured a place at the University of Oxford to study Geography, where he met his DGf. Both boys ended up starting jobs as waiters at a local restaurant to earn money for themselves and ease the financial strain on Phoebe, where they met and befriended Celyn.
